In a surreal scene, a swarm of local and national media entered the apartment where San Bernardino shooters Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik lived after the landlord tore off a piece of plywood that was blocking the door. One MSNBC reporter was seen examining items left on the suspects’ desk, at one point picking up a child-rearing book. CNN journalists described seeing driver’s licenses, social security cards and shredded documents inside the residence. A group of photographers zeroed in on a pile of papers that were laid out on a bed.
It appeared that members of the public were inside the apartment as well. One man lingered holding a large soda. A child was seen wandering throughout the home. Another opened the refrigerator and peered inside.

Gate at Kirtland Air Force Base reopened after the lockdown
The reported gunshots that triggered a lockdown at Kirtland Air Force Base Wednesday afternoon turned out to be someone popping bubble wrap, said Eric Elliott, the director of public affairs for the base.
This last week Jeff Bezos of Blue Origin (and Amazon) one upped Elon Musk of SpaceX (and Tesla, SolarCity, PayPal) in the space race to send a rocket to space and land the first stage propulsively on land in a step towards fully reusable rockets. Since then the media has made it sound like it’s a war between the two and there is some controversy as to who did what first.
First – congrats to both of them for their amazing accomplishments. But neither one of them has crossed my “I did it first” line. Let’s start by looking at the history of the race.
A black graduate of Kean University in New Jersey was accused on Tuesday of fabricating threats on Twitter against black staff members and students that led officials to heighten security on campus, the authorities said. Prosecutors say Ms. McKelvey is a self-proclaimed activist who made the threats on Nov. 17 during a rally on racial issues at the Union campus. Midway through the demonstration, prosecutors said, she left and went to a university library, where she created an anonymous Twitter account. After posting several threats, Ms. McKelvey returned to the rally, where she told others about the threats, but did not say she had made them, according to Ms. Park.
On November 30 the nations are meeting in Paris to discuss global warming. On November 8th I gave this presentation to the Humanists Community in Silicon Valley about the same subject. It’s about what is and isn’t true on both sides of the debate.
This wasn’t a speech I had prepared in advance. What happened was that the scheduled speaker didn’t show so I filled in. I would have done a better job had I prepared but I managed to fake my way through it.
The Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood shooter mentioned “baby parts” to investigators implying that his motive was the highly edited videos created by the anti-abortion group “Center for Medical Progress”. Earlier the year CMP released several videos that falsely claim that Planned Parenthood is in the business of selling baby parts.
It makes me wonder if CMP might also be criminally responsible for the latest Colorado Springs abortion clinic attack. If for example I yell “fire” in a crowded room and people stampede and someone gets killed because of what I said, that’s not free speech – that’s manslaughter.
Similarly – if someone creates a fake video saying that babies are being chopped up and sold for parts and some nutcase believes the video and starts killing people, isn’t the author of the video criminally responsible too?
Regardless of the criminal responsibility there definitely is a direct causal effect between this shooting and the video and the cops killed would still be alive today if CMP hadn’t made the false video.
So – who has the right religion? I do! I’m a Realist. I believe in Reality. Everything that actually is real. And my religion is the one true religion. Church of Reality. Reality changed my life – it can change your’s too!
With all the money we spend on religion and religious wars, wouldn’t the world be better off focusing on Reality? No religious terrorism – wouldn’t that be great?

In what appears to be a first for a serious presidential contender, Hillary Clinton’s campaign is going after five comedians who made fun of the former Secretary of State in standup skits at a popular Hollywood comedy club.
A video of the short performance, which is less than three minutes, is posted on the website of the renowned club, Laugh Factory, and the Clinton campaign has tried to censor it. Besides demanding that the video be taken down, the Clinton campaign has demanded the personal contact information of the performers that appear in the recording. This is no laughing matter for club owner Jamie Masada, a comedy guru who opened Laugh Factory more than three decades ago and has been instrumental in launching the careers of many famous comics. “They threatened me,” Masada told Judicial Watch. “I have received complains before but never a call like this, threatening to put me out of business if I don’t cut the video.”
Black-clad protesters gathered in front of Dartmouth Hall, forming a crowd roughly one hundred fifty strong. Ostensibly there to denounce the removal of shirts from a display in Collis, the Black Lives Matter collective began to sing songs and chant their eponymous catchphrase. Not content to merely demonstrate there for the night, the band descended from their high-water mark to march into Baker-Berry Library.
“F*** you, you filthy white f***s!” “F*** you and your comfort!” “F*** you, you racist s***!”
These shouted epithets were the first indication that many students had of the coming storm. The sign-wielding, obscenity-shouting protesters proceeded through the usually quiet backwaters of the library. They surged first through first-floor Berry, then up the stairs to the normally undisturbed floors of the building, before coming back down to the ground floor of Novack.
Just because someone “believes” something does that mean the rest of society has to respect that? Has religious freedom gone too far? We have freedom of speech but you can’t yell “Fire” to cause a panic. It seems to me that when you have a religion that’s going around killing people in the name of God that it crosses a line.
What religion do you think of when you hear about terrorists, beheadings, torture, rape, throwing acid in the faces of little girls going to school, honor killing, jihad, stonings, modern day crucifixion? The list goes on.
I think that what you do is what you believe and you can argue that “most Mislims don’t kill” but most people in a Army don’t kill either. But they support those who do kill.
The University of Missouri Colombia is on the top ten list of best schools of Journalism in the US. The ginger-haired lady at the end of the video calling for muscle is listed as a staff “Communications Professor”.
As it turns out the ice in Antarctica has been growing – not shrinking as the climate alarmists have been saying according to NASA. I have been saying all along that only about 1/3 of what the climate alarmists have been saying is true. We still have an overpopulation problem and a number of environmental problems to deal with. This planet is still our space ship and until we evolve into machines we still need to keep the planet habitable.
However – since the ice cap has been growing for the last 25 years I think we can scratch the whole sea level rise threat off the table. The real damage has been to science itself. When people exaggerate threats it makes scientists into liars. It shows how money on both sides corrupts and that science is corruptible. But the thing about science is that you can only lie so long because Reality will come back to bite you.
And that pretty much sums it up.
