The endless saga of “packet loss” & gaps in (John’s) speech carries on from week to week. Examine the symptom which always precedes the phenomenon so as to cure it: John starts talking loud(er) & a fuzz of distortion envelopes his signal. Too fat a signal seems to result in what I can only call “misshapen packets.” The system apparently doesn’t know what to do with them & gets backed up on itself.
JCD is a couple o’ years older than me & we are ancient & losing our hearing. So he’s unable to modulate his output in the enthusiasm of the moment because he doesn’t hear it.
One or both of two obvious remedies are undervalued here: Turn the frickin’ gain down or back the microphone away from his mouth by an inch or three.
So add this contribution to the litany of quack advice you’ve been accumulating. The first few weeks of Adam’s newfangled podcast device were golden. Then it all gradually went south.
