Fa fa, fa… this make me rauf.
And now Asiana Airlines says We Su Yu.
That is so wong.
Wi Tu Lo.
Love it.
The NTSB released these names. Apparently an intern at the NTSB in charge of getting the pilots names provided these. He’s since been fired.
Proof?
Here’s saving you 2 seconds of google searching.
http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/07/13/19447725-ntsb-says-intern-mistakenly-confirmed-racially-offensive-fake-names-of-asiana-pilots
There’s nothing to suggest with certainty that the intern was fired from your link.
NTSB should have given the Intern a promotion for making a fool of the media, and the Newtork should have fired “news reader” being an idiot.
Agreed. I personally found it funny on multiple levels: the joke of the names, but also that the brainless talking head in the studio, or any producers during the broadcast didn’t figure it out.
NTSB confirmed the names, but who issued them? My guess it came from within the studio, otherwise the mishap would have gone out to many stations and more “news agencies” would have picked up on it.
Man-Oh-Man
I’d like to think this is an isolated case of lack of critical thinking by our news media (this is Oakland after all…) but I fear it is not. I was really hoping the movie Idiocracy was not going to be a documentary but, oh well…..
You’re not the only one brimming with disappointment.
It’s just another fine example of an idiocratic news source forgetting that getting it right the first time is better than apologizing for screwing up.
It’s apparently more important to be first to air the “facts” than it is to do a little background/reality checking.
My stomach hurts from laughing so long…..How freaking stupid can people get?
My bad.
Shameful but at least the NTSB spokesperson, Wi Wo Wong (Steven) apologized for the error.
No can bareeve!!
BTW the capt’s correct spelling of his name is
We too row….
Best raff I had in ages….
Feel like I just got out after eating at a chinese restaurant, speek pigeon chinese/american for hrs….
ho… you go now!!!!
I thought this was a Jon Stewart stunt when I saw a clip on the Roku box.
More Chiner humer.
Hung Fat Pawn Shop
Hard to blame (sic?) anyone really. In related reading I came across this: “On Tuesday, Asiana Airlines Chief Executive Yoon Young-doo” //// I mean…… c’mon.
http://nbcnews.com/business/korean-culture-may-offer-clues-asiana-crash-6C10578732
Next you’ll be saying you won’t eat at the restaurant Pu Pu Hot Pot.
My memory is too hazy to be sure but I think there are a lot of “Fuk Yu” ‘s out there. I chose not to post that and others thinking I was just log rolling.
Lots of Young and Fat as well.
I hope we aren’t mixing the Chinese with the Koren in some other cultural faux pas?
Makes me laugh–I was in a shanty dive in Tijuana dancing in the early morning and I called a guy “Jose” and he said “My name is not Jose… why do you think we are all called Jose?”… and I said: “I know there are a lot of different Mexican names from Jesus to Hector but I thought your name was Jose!” He seemed to accept that but I was careful not to turn my back to him for the rest of the night….. and I did leave earlier than I would have otherwise. Gringo’s out after Midnight…. never a good plan.
With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all
of that crap, and all of them are in jail. Brown versus the
Board of Education is no longer the white person’s problem.
We have got to take the neighborhood back
what? aside from being nowhere near the topic, it just shows how incredibly racist you are.
Monster fail.
That was a quote of Bill Cosby.
Speaking of racism… the news coverage seems to have taken a sharp (left) turn on the Martin/Zimmerman case. Before the verdict, it was all about the credibility of Zimmerban and now its all about the inherent racism of a system that did not convict an innocent young black child.
Gun rights in america. LOOK—CAREFULLY LOONS!!!! America may be all about the right to “have” the guns==just don’t ever use them. Not outside your own house perhaps. ….. Pro’s and Con’s.
We don’t know what happened in this (or any other case) but of interest to me: if you can’t imagine facts within the ambit of this case so as to reach any verdict named, then you aren’t thinking hard enough.
I agree with a few commentators who have said this case shows its really “the law” in Florida that is at fault. I agree completely.
“We just don’t want this to happen Again!” /// Pull my finger.
You don’t know what happened because you haven’t followed the case, or are getting your facts from the media. The jury doesn’t know what happened because the defense team wasn’t allowed to present oodles of evidence. A guilty verdict would have been thrown out on appeal so easily. The prosecuting team knows what happened but they prosecuted anyway because this was about race politics, not justice.
If they really wanted to help, they should turn the news towards what you said by accident. The failure to convict a black child. They kept covering for TrayVon instead of disciplining him. The system turned him into a druggie loser.
I know a witness said they say Martin setting on Zimmerman and Zimmerman had obvious bloody injuries. I know that the experts said that was where Martin was when he got shot.
I know the lame stream media is inciting riots and these are occurring in blue cities far from the location of the trial.
I know the FBI has stated that they found no evidence that Zimmerman was motivated by racial prejudice. I know that Holder and Obama are based on what they have said and done including threats to make this a Federal case.
There’s more. That’s the stuff the jury saw. I don’t think they got to see the video of Martin at the 7/11. He had some other guys buy him a cigarette so he could roll a joint. That’s why it took him 40 minutes to go home the half mile.
So Zimmerman was right that he looks like he is on drugs. He was also right about up to no good. He was previously found with jewelry, watches, and a burglary tool.
I assumed pretty much the same thing when the story first broke and posted the same here.
“But my challenge was:” can you imagine a scenario where any verdict could be reached? In your cases==can you imagine a scenario where Zimmerman really is guilty of 2nd Degree Murder.
…… or are you set in your rut already?
I understand there is a contest to see when Sunny Hostin spontaneously combusts on CNN.
Quick google listed her as mother, lawyer, multi-platform journalist.
Gag me!
>America may be all about the right to “have” the guns==just don’t ever use them.
The absolute wrong lesson. Zimmerman used his and is walking free. Better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6.
Prior to starting his beatdown, TrayVon said you got a problem now. You’re going to die today.
So the real lesson is carry a gun.
As stated–all related issues come down to what facts you choose to consider and when you start counting: if Zimmerman did not have his gun that day he would never have gotten out of his car and he would have avoided his time in jail, notoriety, and the rest of his life that none of us would want.
Guns are for Idiots. At least you are consistent.
He avoided everything until Al Sharpton and Obama insisted on an arrest. So the lesson is keep quiet round election season. I don’t think passively letting the police handle everything is the right way to do things.
Eric Holder now has the Justice Department looking to find some way they can lock up George Zimmerman, just like the guy who made the video.
First they came for the Tea Party, but I said nothing because I am not a Tea Partier. Then they came for the Jews, but I said nothing because I am not a Jew. Then they came for the filmmaker, but I said nothing because I am not a filmmaker. Then they came for Obama voting George Zimmerman, but I said noting, because I am not a Hispanic or a white Hispanic or a gunowner or a fatso or a homeowner or an Obama voter.
Here’s another one:
http://now.msn.com/howie-felterbush-quoted-by-usa-today-in-george-zimmerman-verdict-reaction
MIKE HUCKABEE: You have said that you thought the prosecutor ought to be disbarred, that’s a pretty serious type of violation to get a person disbarred. It is that serious to you?
ALAN DERSHOWITZ: Right, it is. She submitted an affidavit that was, if not perjurious, completely misleading. She violated all kinds of rules of the profession, and her conduct bordered on criminal conduct.
>I agree with a few commentators who have said this case shows its really “the law” in Florida that is at fault. I agree completely.
Nope the law is just fine. It was a prosecutorial abuse thanks to the hectoring of Eric Holder and Al Sharpton and Pres Obama that caused this problem. The cops were right in not arresting him, and it would be the same in any other state.
The Florida law extends stand your ground laws to outside the house activities–ie==vigilantism. I can only be for vigilantism when I am the vigilante. Society breaks down too rapidly into armed camps if we don’t confine our gun stupidity to the cops.
Guns are for Idiots. At least you are consistent.
Stand Your Ground ‘s effect on this case amounted to one witness saying he taught a self-defense class that George took where they talked about Stand Your Ground. Once again you have let people with an agenda misinform you. This was basic self-defense. Stand Your Ground doesn’t apply when you have no chance of retreating.
WTF happened to this blog?
Back on original topic – a whole comment thread an no one said “Ron Burgundy”. sad…
“a spokeswoman for the NTSB, said the intern was a student volunteering his time who answered phones but was supposed to pass on questions to official media representatives at the agency.”
And maybe this intern’s name was “elbarto”? And the appropriate action taken against him, was suggested by Moe Szyslak.
http://tinyurl.com/8ahw7gr
After reading this, I couldn’t help thinking that “NTSB” stood for Not The Smartest Bunch”. And add to that what ever “bunch of” you think best.
Also the real sir names of both pilots is “Lee”. Which I guess is fairly common, in South Korea. But makes me wonder if they’re related? And if so, is that how they pick their pilots? Nepotism? It might explain why “junior” landed the plane so hard. He’s got job security, no matter what he does. As long as he lives thru it.
