Yeah John! LOL…you’re almost as bad as microsoft editing their Wiki’s! Well at least you don’t pay someone to do it for you. 🙂
You sure did nail that one… Not like a sports thread is going to do well around here, anway.
I had predicted Colts 23, Bears 17… and the difference between that score and the actual score flipped the spread for the vast majority of betters.
At the end of the day, the reason the Bears lost was their inability to get their running game going… against the worst run defense in the league.
I made the final prediction before the game was over..thus I consider it legit under the new rules!
Did anyone but me notice that the lackeys calling the game hardly ever talked about the rain and its effect? They harped on it on ESPN but the game guys said nothing as if they were told to not mention it.
And exactly where was the Bears great defense? I guess playing most of your games against the Lions, Packers and Vikings does make you look good on paper. What a joke.
I don’t think the CBS crew knew what to make of the rain, and said nothing for fear of being made to look stupid as the game went on.
Realistically, if they were to have said anything, it would have been that the rain would have improved the Bears chances… since that team is built on defense and running. That observations would have been proven false, as the Colts were able to adapt to the weather better than the Bears.
As for the Bears D, they lost two guys to injury over the last half of the season that really hurt their quality. With teams that run the Cover 2, if you don’t have strong players at all five key positions (DE, DT, MLB, WLB, S), you’re toast.
James-
Who cares about the Bears defense losing two guys…the Colts D lost a starting safety and a ROOKIE with no career picks made that INT that was run back for the TD. The bears’ defense (especially that bum urlacher) is VASTLY overrated, gave up 430 (!!!) yards, and was shredded ALL DAY LONG, yet there is NO criticism of them ANYWHERE. That overrated defense is the reason the bears’ offense was unable to get on the field and establish a rhythm.
The colts (and the AFC in general) are the vastly superior team to anything the nfc trots out there…any team from the colts, to the patriots, to the chargers, to the ravens all would haver demolished the bears.
The Bears D was the best on the planet with those two guys, while the Colts D wasn’t worth a damn until Bob Sanders came back. That’s why it matters, and why it’s the key part of the story.
Also, I’d hardly call the Colts victory a shredding. Manning was stopped many times. Likewise, I’d hardly blame Grossman’s two picks and the inability to establish the run the D’s fault.
Honestly, come up with your own arguments. Repeating what’s on ESPN doesn’t work.
Repeating what’s on ESPN? Nobody’s calling out the Chicago defense, and they were getting worked over all night.
And you don’t think they were shredded? Uhm, did you even look at the stats, or the score? Take away the fluke KO return, add in the missed FG (never happens) and botched PAT, and you’re looking at a 33-10 whooping.
Perhaps you didn’t notice that Indy gained 430 total yards on offense?
And quit making excuses – EVERY team has injuries.
Blah blah blah keep running your excuse-o-meter, mrs. urlacher.
Wow, you really are a moron.
I’m not making excuses for the team… I’m answering your question as to why they were so overhyped when compared to the Colts. The fact you can’t reply to your own conversation shows the lack of effort you’ve put into forming your own opinions.
Once again, quit repeating what’s on ESPN. You’re getting owned because of it.
