Obviously, it’s time to drone him at the embassy in London. Collateral damage be damned! I wonder what would happen if Assange was given the Nobel Peace Prize for exposing the crap we as a country keep doing. Would the government, headed by another Peace Prize winner, back off? Perhaps that’s the avenue for his getting out of the embassy.

The US military has designated Julian Assange and WikiLeaks as enemies of the United States – the same legal category as the al-Qaeda terrorist network and the Taliban insurgency.
Declassified US Air Force counter-intelligence documents, released under US freedom-of-information laws, reveal that military personnel who contact WikiLeaks or WikiLeaks supporters may be at risk of being charged with “communicating with the enemy”, a military crime that carries a maximum sentence of death.

  1. McCullough says:

How long before anyone who speaks out our against govt. is considered an enemy of the state, including you Uncle Dave, and of course myself.

Probably already happened. So, many thanks to our current and former President for that.

    • Uncle Dave says:

Are you implying we’re about to receive an all expenses paid trip to the tropical isle of Cuba? I could use a vacation…

    • spsffan says:

      1798.

    • dusanmal says:

This type of skimming over the crux of the issue is endemic to Liberals: Please speak against and pro whomever as much as you (or Assange) wishes. Plenty of such types of all colors. Most NOT considered an enemy.
So, why Assange? – Find his printed and taped interviews. Several times, in statements to various journalists he repeated one and the same statement (paraphrased here as he obviously haven’t said it word by word each time): His (Assange) goal is to inflict damage and harm to USA and Capitalist system. Inflict damage and harm. Not that he doesn’t like it or has other ideas. Not that he talks about it. Direct, clear and intentional statements of intent to harm. Sorry, that does qualify him as enemy. If someone sez’ that he doesn’t like you – you can ignore him. If someone states that he is actively working to harm you -> it is enemy and you have every right to protect against him. And to execute any defense participant who instead of defending assists the attacker.

      • Somebody says:

If it turns out we do have to give him a trial, it’s comforting to know that we can at least execute his defense attorneys.

      • noname says:

dusanmal your just another republican shit mouth talking!

Give a link that shows a quote of him saying to the effect “His (Assange) goal is to inflict damage and harm to USA and Capitalist system. Inflict damage and harm”

    • msbpodcast says:

As far as being “an enemy of the state” goes, we’re all enemies of somebody somewhere, even if its only as an existential barrier to somebody’s plan.

I think that Assange is being a gadfly and a pain in the butt of those who benefit for lack of openness and transparency, but sadly I would not want him to receive the Nobel Prize. (People don’t hang from a gibbet or disappear in a cloud of bloody vapor because of what he says or doesn’t say, like Stop!)

  2. McCullough says:

Cuba is way too hot this time of year, but come December it will be perfect. They call it the Christmas winds.

  3. George says:

    Obama! Obama! Obama!

Why is it that everyone talks around this without saying the name? “another Peace Prize winner” indeed.

The article goes so far as bringing up Joe Biden, Sarah Palin, and Mike Huckabee; three politically unimportant nut-cases, but fears to speak the name of Obama.

Obama’s Pentagon is doing this. Don’t say that he doesn’t have a say in what is going on there. Shit flows from the top, and this is flowing right out of the White House.

    • Enemy_Of_The_State says:

      George,
Uncle Joe is in his third year of Alzheimer’s. He needs his meds. Please don’t take his Obamacare away in January .

  4. deowll says:

Anyone who says anything on line has it filed in an DHS data base. According to a law passed by creeps in both parties we can all be arrested and held without bail indefinitely. No due process needed of course that isn’t Constitutional but then this government doesn’t concern itself much with that document.

    • McCullough says:

And it amazes me that people will still vote for the same creeps who took our most basic rights away. It’s some weird form of denial or possibly Stockholm Syndrome, but it’s disturbing.

I often wonder what MLK would have to say about this President. I think I know what he would have said about Bush the ‘tard.

      • jpfitz says:

Bush policies continued by Barry is a taunt political and espionage thriller. Barry is an operative of the neocons being sucked into the Zionists disguised as a sympathizer of the downtrodden. His half and half genetics is used to mask the reality of whose in control of the White House. Nifty paranoid deductions huh?

Maybe I should stop at two beers.

  5. TooManyPuppies says:

With this, anyone who has ever vocalized support for or donated money or support (bandwidth) can be disappeared for life without trial or a lawyer at any time under Indefinite Detention under the NDAA.

  6. bobbo, one true Liberal recognizing Obama is too far Right says:

Poor ol’ Julian really stumbled into deep kimchi didn’t he? Like Osama, I think he thought he would bet a reaction, but not what he is getting.

In the grand scheme of things, the possibility of being extradited and charged with treason should have been on his “over the horizon” radar, but “if its true” that those sex charges are all trumped up, thats a whole different kettle of fish.

As to Assange being out to “destroy America”==give me a break. Assange wants “the truth” to come out. That may be damaging or not but to try to position Assange as some kind of terror threat is just the kind of toadying to the fascist mindset that Assange is against.

Too few of him, too many of the others.

  7. NewformatSux says:

If you can be arrested for making a movie that mocks Islam, then Julian Assange should definitely be arrested.

The people who were exposed by Wikileaks as helping the US in other countries were not available for comment.

    • bobbo, one true Liberal recognizing Obama is too far Right says:

Yeah, and if idiots had wheels, you’d be a wheel barrow.

As to deaths caused by wiki leaks. Where there any? Will there be fewer or more in the future also consequent thereto?

What have you got against the truth? I’ve read the entire Arab Spring is a result of wikileaks. So–huge changes, including deaths.

Pros and Cons to all we do, everything being connected. Governments lie to their people. Everyone knows it. Odd its so upsetting to have it demonstrated?

    • TooManyPuppies says:

In a perfect world we’d arrest those outed by WikiLeaks for lying to the public or telling mis-information or covering up clear crimes. In a perfect perfect world, we’d execute them. In my world we’d execute them on live pay per view TV. 😀

      • msbpodcast says:

In my world we’d execute them on live pay per view TV.

        Profiteer.

Why does it have to be on pay-per-view?

There is a very good argument to be made that the newly poor, who can’t afford pay-per-view anymore, want and deserve to see the Bernie Madoffs of the world get a dynamite stick wrapped in fish hooks shoved up their asses and BOOM!!!!.

  8. Mextli: ABO says:

Assange is nothing more than a self serving ass. Here is a good example of his “truth” in dealing with the infamous helicopter video .

“But in its zeal to make the video a work of antiwar propaganda, WikiLeaks also released a version that didn’t call attention to an Iraqi who was toting a rocket-propelled grenade and packaged the manipulated version under the tendentious rubric “Collateral Murder.” ”

    • noname says:

You are yet another republican shit for mouth, who wants people to be deluded and truth-blind to die willingly for your lies.

The plain and simple Truth is, the video you refer to, was shot from an Apache helicopter gun-sight and clearly shows the unprovoked slaying of a wounded Reuters journalist Namir Noor-Eldeen, driver Saeed Chmagh, and several others as the Apache shoots and kills them in a public square in Eastern Baghdad.

After the initial shooting, an unarmed group of adults and children in a minivan arrives on the scene and attempts to transport the wounded. They are fired upon as well.

The official statement on this incident initially listed all adults as insurgents and claimed the US military did not know how the deaths occurred.

      • Mextli: ABO says:

And you are yet another all around shit for mouth.
Do you dispute the New York Times article?
Crawl back in your little anarchist hole Sucka.

        • noname says:

Better yet, I went to the first source, I watched the tape very closely and the pilot thought the camera equipment slung over the shoulders of Reuters journalist Namir Noor-Eldeen where guns and that’s why they where shot.

There was a separate group carrying AK47.

In the tape the childish pilots obviously where very trigger happy, begging and getting upset having to wait to get permission to shot.

I am sure that same desire to kill enabled them to miss-identify camera equipment and to start shooting at an unarmed Van/Ambulance picking up the wounded.

Was it murder , definitively yes!

Also, there was no RPG, just another convenient miss-identification by immature pilots playing a video game who where never in danger.

        • noname says:

And yes Mextli: ABO you are indeed another “shit for mouth”. And yes unlike you I read the NY article.

In America, a citizen is expected to question and demand answers from his/her government. This isn’t a dump like MEXICO where people have to work outside their county to make a living.

          • bobbo, one true Liberal recognizing Obama is too far Right says:

Congrats noname. These murdeers were not justified by the circumstances clearly presented on the tape – REGARDLESS= of who was carrying what.

Too many civilians around. When we attack targets in such environments and so many casuals, borderlines, and innocents are killed, we are only creating the next batch of enemies.

If you want the USA to be victorious in all our unilaterally instigated wars for who knows what reasons, you want to be smarter than this.

Just look===but you do and see what you want to.

            Ha, ha.

          • noname says:

bobbo, “one true Liberal” you are just as puerile as the Apache helicopter pilots where.

War is hell, and solders, sailors and airmen don’t have an easy job to do. But acting without thought, exception or qualification is ironically always puerile!

          • bobbo, one true Liberal recognizing Obama is too far Right says:

I agree with/support your position above and you call me puerile. Certainly that describes your own position from whatever value system is found in the overlap of our positions.

Fortunately, I disagree with your opinion expressed immediately above leaving you with some explaining to do.

Certainly war is Hell but not when firing safely on civilians from a mile away.

Innocent people were killed for no reason other than the fun in doing so. Hardly puerile to call what we all clearly saw on tape.

          • noname says:

Pedro, desperate for some attention aren’t you!

Well, let me give it to you. Your simply a prick! I big prick at that!!

Your a continuing annoyance to pretty much everyone. Although lately, you are taking a different track and at times, “buttering” up to select people to curry favor. As if you could build an alliance and keep it!

Too bad the DU tribe can’t hold a vote now, and vote you off the island. I know how Dallas would vote!

Your just a hateful, mean little prick with no redeeming value!

          • noname says:

Oh pedro, you want to play in someone else conversation now!

Your that disparate for attention? It really must be lonely for you. Take your meds and it be all better.

        • noname says:

My response wasn’t concerned by your agreement or support with my position, that is; my position is not dependent on your support. I am not campaigning, so your support is for you not me.

“Just look===but you do and see what you want to.

          Ha, ha.”

You ending in your comment is what in part drove my response, it was puerile in-itself. War and it’s execution is not a jovial matter and should never be lightly addressed by inexperienced or immature persons.

          • bobbo, we think with words, and flower with ideas says:

What you found puerile in my ending comment was ALSO strong support for your expressed position.

Read it until that becomes clear.

Now—since you need the help, here is an insult directed at you purely based on your performance: You don’t really don’t have an attention span past a bumper sticker. Pedro has you pegged.

Silly Hoomans. Can’t tell shit from shinola. Its the Marine way. Hoorah!!

          • noname says:

            Bobo, it’s not clear.

But, let be clear; I don’t need nor really care for your support!

My experience and service is support enough for me. I don’t need your input to add to that.

You have very uniformed opinions that you like to boldly state behind the cover of me! I am not going to give you that cover!

Like it or not, your opinion in support or against me is really of no-consequence. Your opinions will have to stand on their own and not take cover behind someone else. That’s what called being an adult!

Goody for me, you gave me support, big woop. War is hell, mistakes happen and if you served and risked your life you would have known that!

I guess, if your going to judge something, at least be among a jury of their peers and not some “I know better” wannabe!

          • noname says:

Oh pedro, you want to play in someone else conversation now!

            That nice pedro.

Alot of people are telling me I am your crush, insulting me in hopes I might like you!

Well, sorry to dash your hopes; your a plain bore and an idiot. You have a psychotic tendency to refer to yourself as we. The truth will likely further frustrate and infuriate you, oh well.

Your obvious psychosis is kind of scary.

Pedro you really should take your meds, it’s your only hope for sanity!

          • noname says:

Yes, yes pedro, if you believe so.

I guess, you can’t resist your new crush. I am flattered, but not interested. Why don’t you go bother your bbf Dallas.

Wow, Dallas really has you pwned. You just can’t resist crushes can you!

I guess the meds just aren’t working any more.

            buh-bye, until my next reply!

          • Noname says:

            pedro, your loosing it.

Reality is slipping away from you isn’t it!

Take your meds and it will be all better.

  9. NewformatSux says:

Obama has been aggressively going after those who leak against his government, those who whistleblow against his government, and those who resist his policies. So states that have their marijuana laws see their dispensaries shut down, because the concept of states going against the dictates of Washington is unacceptable.

    • noname says:

      True,

As far as CIA/FBI/NSA/DoD/HLS (USA Security apparatus) Obama is just a SMARTER form of BUSH. Both BUSH and Obama don’t give a shit about the 4 th Amendment.

No “probable cause supported by Oath or affirmation” or Warrant needed!

The Gov can do what ever it wants, when ever it wants against whomever it wants with out cause or reason and no body can say or do differently!!!!!

The public largely agrees and goes along because, “The Gov must know something I don’t”! The Public is too self-absorbed, busy too participate in our once democratic government and demand government publicate “reasoning or cause”! The public attention is too self-absorbed in playing Nintendo, surfing the web, watching TV and doesn’t want to participate in safeguarding it’s rights.

      Amendment IV
(Privacy of the Person and Possessions)
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
