Stinks of FUD. WHO were these “illegals?” Israeli’s? Brits? — or even worse === Canadians????
One of my favorite films: Canadian Bacon. Catch it when you can.
Why do people have such a hard time with the term “illegal alien”?
Either enforce the damn law, or ditch it.
I guess someone ripped pages out of the colonisation chapter of the abridged and re-edited US history book.
And the TSA excuse for this is …?
It seems that TSA and ICE are having trouble communicating within the Department of Homeland Security.
TSA and ICE are in competition for funding.
And really that’s what it’s ALL ABOUT. All of this security theater bullshit is nothing but a bunch of bureaucrats wrestling each other and the american public for ever larger slices of the budget.
That’s the same reason we won’t see drugs decriminalized any time soon… that’s where the bulk of revenues for law enforcement comes from, both directly and indirectly.
Well, they had no problems with a bunch of clean cut young Saudi males coming here to Jersey City for flight training in 2000.
What could go wrong?
Godd Mmorning, this is Bonsai Air Flight Training Scholl, how may I direct your call?? Oh this is the FBI? Why yes we do have illegal aliens! Uhm no, they say they are from the planet Quiazyylaxx from the far side of the galaxy. No not terrorists at all. Your welcome.
couldn’t get pass the topic header. aliens from space or we just hate any now?
Perhaps it’s a little over your head…might I sugggest the Sesame Street blog? Hmmm?
Love Sesame Street! Not sure why you wouldn’t though I could care less. You must be new around here to miss that entirely.
I am new around here, so what exactly did I miss?
So what’s the surprise? Illegal aliens are not people to be deported. They are to be given work visas. In fact, the use of the term illegal alien is not approved by Homeland Security.
With the drought and all not many illegals in the fields..whatdya want?
McCullough insightfully says:

Why do people have such a hard time with the term “illegal alien”?
Either enforce the damn law, or ditch it. /// Well—its undeniable we don’t enforce the law. AND we don’t ditch it because the ambiguity lets the powers that be play their power trips with people under their boots.
BUT==you can’t deny how enjoyable it is to watch the Kabuki Theater around the subject. La Raza critizing the USA for lack of Humanity when Mexico’s immigrant policy AND ACTION is 10 times worse. The bru-haw-haw over “no person is illegal” is a rhetoricians delight.
One simple subject showing 15 layers of human stupidity.
why won’t people just starve to death quietly?
Perhaps we should make Arpaio head of DHS instead of suing him.
http://washingtontimes.com/news/2012/jul/19/dhs-deletes-immigration-enforcement-success-storie/
Janet had DHS website scrubbed of their celebrations of deporting illegal immigrants who committed additional crimes. Instead, they got mad at Arizona for winning part of its case and cut them off of the 287g program. No more immigration checks for you!
What can be given can be taken away . . .
Sounds like the FAA should have background checks before handing out pilot licenses.
National borders being sacrosanct is the problem. If we had followed our own current policy 150 years ago, Texas and the entire California territory would still be a part of Mexico. I will be interested to see how it turns out if we get enough Mexicans in the southwestern states to be able to vote for succession and rejoin with our sourthern neighbor. After all, that’s how we acquired the land in the first place.
It’s all well and good to not care about sovereignty or borders when taking over others’ land is the goal; but once it’s ours, we change the rules to ensure it remains that way.
“It’s all well and good to not care about sovereignty or borders when taking over others’ land is the goal; but once it’s ours, we change the rules to ensure it remains that way.”
I think a “well, duh!” is deserved here.
According to this article posted yesterday, there is a secret federal agency that is responsible for clearing AFSP students:
Wilson also insisted TSA should not take the rap for poor screening alone, as an unidentified second federal agency has the authority to clear AFSP students. The agency was not named in the hearing because its authority to clear foreign nationals for flight training is considered sensitive information.
Stephen Lord, GAO director of homeland security and justice issues, suggested TSA would be dodging its responsibilities in blaming screening failures on the other federal agency.
We have a lot of Spanish and Italian students going through Navy flight school here. I’m guessing that is the other agency he’s referring to.
In the 70’s we trained Iranian pilots here too. Boy do I have some HILARIOUS stories about that.
I was at Lackland AFB when that was going on. Not part of the training program. But I remember seeing the Iranian officers, in their extra wide brimmed hats, that looked like potato chips on top their heads. And thought it was a symbol of just how inferior they believed they were, that they needed the largest possible head gear, to compensate. And I also heard how any of them that stepped out of line, got a severe beating by their own Iranian commanders. So apparently, there were different rules of military justice, on some parts of a US military base. According to how much foreign oil money was at stake.
Only a few years later, would the Iranian-US hostage crisis occur. And Carter would have to deal with it. And so the US was instantly at odds with those that had just been trained on a US military base. But it’s not like it’s the first time. The infamous “Schools of the Americas” trains a lot of the badasses down in Central and South America, that we end up at odds with. Like we did with Manuel Noriega.
Often I believe the US govt lives by the motto. “Keep your friends close, but train your enemies to be better enemies.”
A secret agency.
Just great. Nobody to hold accountable.
Next up, a secret Congress, President, and Supreme Court.
I wonder how many other secret federal agencies exist.
I guess we will never know, because it is a secret.
The FAA (Friends of All-things Aerospace) apparently protects the bottom line of any and all flying schools, as well as commercial airlines. Is there a shortage of commercial airline pilots, I don’t know about? That they feel the need to keep flying schools free of too much red tape. The political forces are battling over the health care law, that keeps insurers from refusing those with prior medical conditions. But nobody seems to care about refusing pilot training, of those with no record of where they come from. How upside-down thinking is that?!
I think I know why this is. It’s not about terrorists training to fly planes into large buildings. It’s about the drug trafficking by air. It the illegals can’t learn to fly in the US. They’re not likely to know enough to fly cocaine laden aircraft across the border. And then where would the DEA be? Soon out of a lot of money.
Truth is mighty and will prevail. There is nothing the matter with this, except that it ain’t so.
— Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (1835-1910)
