“Senate Office of Education and Traiing,” reads the title on the cover of the guide, a catalog of continuing education courses that is offered to all staff and senators. Spelling and proofreading might not be high on the list of courses favored by Cam Stickley, the director of the office, but humor seems to be. Said Stickley in an email to Senate offices, “Thanks to an astute Senate staffer, we were alerted to a typographical error on the cover. While we strive for perfection, things do happen. Please rest assured that we can spell, and it is safe to take our proofreading and editing classes. We offer a wide variety of services, and we are here to serve you, so please contact me anytime.”

Perhaps they all graduated from the School for Spies.

    zzzzzzz. Huh? Wha?

Is anyone really surprised at this?

Here, we have yet another government agency taking tax dollars to do something (which I don’t think we’ll ever get a straight answer on) that proclaims to help educate and train some group of people when they can’t even proof read the most important part of one of their own documents – the TITLE!

Anyone ever even heard of this “department”?! Not me.

I’d like to know what they do. Cause if I want any more “education” or “training” I really only have two options: 1.) Get it from an employer, assuming he/she is rich and/or really really likes me. Or 2.) Go back to school and get screwed for more alphabet soup after my name and maybe end up in a job that pays a dollar less in wages.

Still, (you and) I pay taxes for this “Senate Office of Education and Training” which apparently only helps Senators. Who cares if they can’t spell? They, like so many other nameless, faceless, governmental agencies, need to go away and stop sucking up tax dollars!

Hey! I can dream can’t I? It’s not like it’s really going to happen or anything.

I have a little cheapo computer, and my word processing program is Microsoft Works, and even it tells me (with a red squiggly underline) when I misspell a word.

Oh, and ‘Traiing’ got me a red squiggle.

Don’t they have computers in Wash. D.C.?

  6. Glenn E. says:

What is this for? So the Senators hiring illegals and foreigners on their “staff” can get them educated in English, on the public’s dime?

Who else hires people for jobs, who then need more basic education to do the job half-assed right?! Sounds like staffers are most friends and family, of limited education and experience. Just what the US needs. Government run down by more nepotism.

Sure it is not an acronym for some even more obscure government program? Most likely to protect the children from internet p0rn.

Bobbo AKA “He who over reacts to everything” – It’s just an example of irony…get a grip already. /// Irony huh?…….Ok, fine. But there are soooooo many other non-ironical issues floating all around. Why not find one that is ironical AND a bit more relevant? I don’t know how hard that would be to do. Haven’t tried.

The issue most recently catching my attention is the false and culturally determined lame stream media driven drivel about Hillary what’s her name calling Romney’s wife out for not having a job. COMPLETELY ACCURATE to point out Mrs MegaBuck has never had a job and has ZERO CREDIBILITY telling the public that women’s greatest concern is not the privacy rights concern autonomy of self in opposition to the Pukes WAR on Women and instead is “the economy.” But–its not politically correct to point out the hard work of raising kiddies ((in Romney’s case, scheduling the nanny along with the private tutors–quelle horreur!)) is a top 1% privileged activity compared to raising kiddies AND maintaining a minimum wage job to keep one’s head above water all making Mr and Mrs Romney TOTALLY IRRELEVANT ON THE ISSUE.

This one current news item also raises the issue of WTF is the interest in what the candidates wives have to say on on issue? Do that in a job interview for any other position and you would be judge incapable of doing the job on offer.

Obama is too conservative/too status quo for the challenge the USA is facing but he is head and shoulders above any Republican out there. THAT is a very sad state of affairs.

But a word has been misspelled. …. But its irony……Ha, ha>>>OK.

Do you want to know the second thing that caught my attention? ///// Didn’t think so===but its over on cagematch.

  9. Somebody_Else says:

    Meh, it happens to everyone.

Oh, wait, this is DU… it must be part of the alien conspiracy coverup! There is no office of education in training, nobody in their right mind would read that. Traiining is the codeword for HAARP gun instruction manual! Somebody call Adam!

“Office of the Vice President . . . The Council on Competativeness.”
    — the letterhead on stationery, complete with misspelling, found in Dan Quayle’s old White House office by Clinton administration staffers.(Newsweek, 2/8/93)

Here’s a YouTube video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAoJan2643w , posted by U.S. Rep. Michael T. McCaul, R-Texas. He’s the wealthiest member of Congress and the son-in-law of the founder of Clear Channel Communications. The video is entitled “McCaul on American Science Competativeness(sic).wmv”.

This spelling makes an interesting internet search string.

  11. deowll says:

“They can’t blame Dan Quayle on this one:…” Shouldn’t that be, “They can’t blame this one on Dan Quayle:”

It doesn’t really matter all that much other than looking unprofessional.

Anyway its a pleasant change of pace from such burning issues as the fact that Romeny’s wife never held down a job for the public if that was even right.

    • CrankyGeeksFan says:

The elimination of this Council was one of the first things that the Clinton Administration did. It was considered to be a “yes man” for big business.

The 1%ers, who actually buy their votes using the money borrowed from the 12,400, are really getting too cheap and typeset their toilet paper (nobody reads this butt-wad anyway,) using equipment that’s pre computing OR they hire people for minimum wage who don’t bother with niceties like spelling, grammer or semiotic disambiguation.
