The liberal news media is making a big deal out of Mitt Romney saying his wife has two Cadillacs, like she’s so rich or something. Perhaps Mitts wife is just like the rest of us. Maybe she just has one Cadillac for parts so she can keep the other Cadillac running? Bet you won’t see that possibility in the liberal news!

  1. Dallas says:

Friggen lefties don’t grasp the concept of having a back up.

WTF is she suppose to ride if the car is due for a polish?

  2. Mac Guy says:

My wife and I had 3 cars (fully-working) at one point. What’s the big effing deal?

It’s sad that this country scorns success the way it does.

  3. Seamus says:

one is always needs to be washed because of the dog waste on the roof

  4. Airsick says:

    LOL for the parts Caddy!

  5. Respect Detroit says:

The dog on the roof story is old.
He may not have the flow of comedian with witty jokes but, he is a capable businessman that can help restore the corporation of the USA.
Don’t hate on him for his upward mobility his benjamins and the Cadillacs, personally, luv that cruise control!
Long ago the Caddy was the quintessential status symbol that you achieved the American dream and everybody wanted one.

    • Anonymous says:

I remember the dog on the roof story, but there may be a few who don’t. So to fill in…

Basically, Mitt was scorned for placing his dog in a portable kennel and then tying it to the roof of his car when he took a cross country trip. It sure had the (mostly liberal) PETA people upset. But was it really any worse than letting the animal put it’s head out the window which even a lot of PETA people have done?!

This story about 2 cars is really no different. Just some leftist idiot trying to stir up air. And I say idiot since I saw no mention of Mitt’s net worth where the obvious question would more likely be (from an intelligent reporter): “Only 2 cars?” Cause with that kind of money, I’m surprised it’s only TWO!

      • Cap'nKangaroo says:

I believe the point being made is not that the family has two cars, but that the wife alone has two. Which is perfectly understandable, one at the main residence and one at the beach house.

Now if it was two Bentley’s, that would just be showing off.

    • Seamus says:

The he is a capable businessman story is old too

The dog was terrified to the point of soiling it self and the car Mitt has the family truckster stop cleans up the mess then puts the dog back on the roof for hundreds more miles and the process repeats

That is not the guy I wand as the decider!

  6. msbpodcast says:

Like a Caddy is a big woop.

If she had a Bentley Mulsanne and a Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 I could see bringing this up.

As it is, she’s just supporting GM’s crappy cars.

  7. Skeptic says:

“My wife drives a couple of Cadillacs”

.. it’s just another way of saying that she’s stacked.

  8. Skeptic says:

Mitt about cars: “I oppose foreign cars and American cars, if ther’re equivalent to foreign cars. And the reason for that is not because I — I don’t want to show respect and tolerance for other cars, but because cars are primarily about the development and nurturing of mopeds. And mopeds deserve a rider and a dealership. So I — I support traditional cars… I want to find ways to build stronger fleets. That means, by the way, more fleets that have riders and dealerships bringing mopeds into the world, less teen license duplication. We need to encourage cars before mopeds.”

      they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re they’re

    • R. Perry says:

I couldn’t agree more. Don’t encourage cars before mopeds! Especially teen license duplication.

    • Cap'nKangaroo says:

I am curious what the question was that led to this answer. If you hadn’t identified it as Romney, my guess would have been some stoned college freshman.

      • Skeptic says:

The original quote is below… doubletalk for his disrespect and intolerance for gays. I just had fun with it.

“Mitt about marriage: “I oppose gay marriage and civil union, if it’s equivalent to gay marriage. And the reason for that is not because I — I don’t want to show respect and tolerance for other people, but because marriage is primarily about the development and nurturing of children. And children deserve a mom and a dad. So I — I support traditional marriage … I want to find ways to build stronger families. That means, by the way, more families that have moms and dads bringing kids into the world, less teenage pregnancy. We need to encourage marriage before kids.”

  9. Guyver says:

It could be worse… you could be a liberal presidential candidate back in 2004 promoting higher gas taxes to force the masses to stop buying “gas-guzzling” automobiles (making it financially impractical for any person except the rich to afford a truck or suv).

When confronted with why he drove an SUV, he said his wife owned it.

Man of the people I tell you! 🙂

    • Cap'nKangaroo says:

      Hypocrisy abounds in both party’s.

      • Mac Guy says:

        PARTIES! Parties, parties, PARTIES!

For cryin’ out loud, Cap’n, have some respect for the English language.

  10. smart enough to Google... says:

The wife’s caddies are both SRX’s. They run $34-54K apiece. 2nd fave for drug dealers after Lincoln Navigator.

What did you buy your wife?

    • deowll says:

Just a stray thought. His wife may have her own money and bought them herself. In any event Jay Lino has a lot more and most of them cost more. Is okay by me. I know a lot of people with an extra vehicle or three. If I were rich I’d add an extended cab pickup to my one car fleet.

I don’t begrudge them what they have. They seem to be nice people who pay their taxes on time and donate a lot to charity.

    • So what says:

      new tits

  11. Brian says:

    I only buy American-made cars.

My BMW X5 was made in the USA.

  12. Dr Spearmint Fur says:

Who cares? Now if he did something really dumb like baptize his dead father-in-law then I’d say he’s a schmuck.

  13. Steve says:

It is not Cadarack, is Ringcon Murphury

  14. Hmeyers2 says:

    I have 2 toasters.

  15. Cursor_ says:

Honestly Mittens is just a white Obama.

Should be perfect for the republicans.

    Cursor_

  16. deowll says:

This was nothing to get fashed about. That 49.5 percent of the potential taxpayers pay no fed taxes is an issue along with the fact that on a per capita bases we owe more than Greece but we’re either going to work that out or the Universe will do it for us.

I had the chance to spend some quality time with my family and I’m thankful. God bless you one and all and have a great weekend.

  17. NewfornatSux says:

Liberal media looks down on Cadillac owners, especially women. Proper car for the liberal elite is a BMW, Audi, or Lexus. Maybe a VW or a Prius.

Then again, Obama owns no cars. His last car was a Ford hybrid which he bought after unloading his real car which would look bad as a gas guzzler.

    • Publius says:

Mitt Romney looks down on Cadillac owners.

She’s down with regular people is the meme. Didn’t you even get why he mentioned she has Cadillacs?

    • Dr Spearmint Fur says:

The liberal media? Uh right. American made luxury cars haven’t sold to, well, rich Americans. Which explains why you can’t buy a Toronado, Lincoln, Buick Riviera or Eldorado. If Mitt wasn’t running for office his wife would be driving a Mercedes or BMW like her buddies.

It sounds like the Mittster actually likes his American cars and has owned a lot. The problem is that he tries to sound like a regular Joe and comes off badly.

  18. bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist and Shadetree Mechanic says:

The bestest reason to mention the two caddies while talking to a group of Ford factory workers is to mention at some point that if Mitt had has his way, GM and even Ford in quick step would not be making cars today at all.

Like most Pukes who can only oppose whatever Obama does, they got nothing to offer on their own.

Can anyone think of ANY issue that Mitt Romney has been right about? This clown car wreck of a Puke Nominating Process really should wake you Puke voters up. You should vote for Obama or stay home. THEN maybe in 2014 the Pukes could start to field some moderates and America wouldn’t be put in peril from the inside out.

Silly Hoomans. Voting your own destruction.

    Sad.

  19. Uncle Patso says:

The best Cadillacs were made in the mid-to-late 1950s, especially 1954, ’55, ’56 and ’57. I thought the gas filler cap hidden under the driver’s side tail light was the coolest thing I had ever seen at the time.

The Cimarron was just ugly (and still is); then most of the models started looking ugly. Is it something in the water in Detroit?

  20. Me2 says:

troll bait, or how to generate traffic to DU.

  21. Bob says:

Lame stream media trying to promote wealth envy?

    I am so surprised

  22. Topmounter says:

He should have said “she has a couple of Escalades” and then news media couldn’t have made light of it without sounding racist.

  23. JimD, Boston, MA says:

For a 1%er, Romney must be a CHEAP BASTARD not to get his wife a DRIVER for her Cadillacs !!!

  24. Glenn E. says:

All this campaign rhetoric by Romney, sounds like he’s promising two Cadillacs in everyone’s shopping basket. Reminiscent of the GOP’s 1928 promise of “a chicken in every pot and car in every garage”, if Hoover was elected. Or was it two of each? And year afterward, the Great Depression disproved that overly optimistic notion.
