Certainly that government funds should not be spent on such procedures so the open question is whether or not people like Chaz should be legal or not.

It is sad that this person insists on living in public and sharing things that I don’t want to see or know about. He never had a chance, with parents who only had time for their own careers and who lived lives that were not conducive to child rearing. What sickness makes these people insist on showing their dirty laundry to the public. I have no interest in exploring the fucked up dysfunctional sex life of a transsexual, and I think it is too extreme for public discussion. Do we need to know the size of anybody’s genitalia?

It’s just sad that she wasn’t happy with the way God created her. She will always be female…surgery doesn’t change genetics. And to have to settle for a little penis just so you can ” be a man”? Is she really happy now??? Or did she do all this and realize happiness comes from within! Just my thoughts on it.
It’s a shame that so many of the comments are disrespectful, ignorant, and transphobic. Just because Bono is a public figure, it doesn’t make it okay to judge him. His decision to be very open about his transition is very much understandable: all the transguys out there need to know that they’re not alone.

There IS such a word as transphobic. Being transgender is not something we know a lot about but research is showing that brain structure may have something to do with it. God? Well if a child is born with their heart outside their body are you going to get surgery or just let the child die because ‘that is the way God made them’. People are utterly disrespectful.
