Great ad. Tells a story, cultural references, perfectly staged.

Did you notice there is no dialog at all until the product placement at the end? Straight visual cinema.

  2. Skeptic says:

    The Devil sucks.

  3. bobbo, its not the crime, its the coverup says:

Now, why would I ever support the devil?

  4. Gasbag says:

    Well that ad sucked 😛

  5. Bobbo, I'm a boring douche, Nice to meetcha! says:

That was a rebranded Miele…I know all about sucking. Just ask Chris Hanson!

  6. TThor says:

Jeezzzz, hopeless! Should be a standard in a MKT101, How not to sell products. Or… maybe a high school project on dumb downed advertising for even dumber consumers?

  7. deowll says:

Extremely amusing and it does strongly lock two thoughts together; powerful vacuum and DirtDevil in a memorable way, and that’s about as good as it gets in an add.

The only down side is that I think people will quickly tire of it. What makes it effective is the surprise.

  8. bschuler says:

It’s a great ad. I have a DVR and have gone to great lengths to not watch an ad is years. And yet I purposely watched this one and enjoyed it. Not only that, I come away knowing the company and it’s products. How is THAT not a great ad?!

  9. duh365 says:

amazing! very old school in the sense of going to great lengths to make something compelling, fun and unexpected. too bad advertising has gone in the toilet. clients want to play it safe and put forgettable garbage on the air. no wonder the skip button on the DVR is so popular.

  10. sargasso_c says:

Waited for her head to spin around.

  11. deowll says:

The thump as the women hits the floor when the vacuum is unplugged is so cool. The perfect ending.

  12. Kent says:

Can’t be a Dirt Devil, must be a Miele.

  13. bilky asko says:

I think I will stick to my vastly superior Dyson – no need for second-rate Mieles.

  14. grouchingthetechgrouch says:

Less clips, more journalism John please:)

  15. derf says:

I’m confused. I don’t understand what’s happening. That thing looks unsafe. I think I’ll just avoid that brand as a precaution.
