  3. Randolph Jamison says:

Bush Co was in biz with the OBL fam.
CIA prepped, primed and pretty much showed OBL the ropes.

The bigger picture was Iraq and WMD’s wielded by another puppet that was the darling of US interests vs Iran.

Good thing he the pot wasn’t concerned about the kettle being black.

  4. What? says:

Even though I hate Bush Jr. (Senior is a relative God though), I agree with everything he says here.

OBL was pretty much a “one hit wonder”. The fact that 50-100 million Muslims now hate us is a bigger issue than OBL.

OBL wanted to pull us into a giant war with the Muslim world, and we complied. We are OBL’s wet dream, and it seems we’re too egotistical to admit it to our selves.

OBL’s global war will outlive him by many many decades, because we can’t get ourselves out of the trap he laid for us.

  7. msbpodcast says:

Bush was not concerned because he saw in a flash how the whole mess was going to play out.

He’d found a boogyman that he could wave at all the dupes.

The last thing in the world he wanted was Bin Laden captured or killed on his watch.

He was going to use this as the excuse he needed to go after Saddam Hussein and one up daddy.

He’d lie, cheat, ruin reputations and lives, murder and wantonly kill thousands of American soldiers and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi’s before he was through.

Remember this PoTUS is the waste of space who said “Good job Browny!” when it was obvious to every one but him that Ol’ Browny was doing anything but a good job in New Orleans.

That’s why Bin Laden was in a hidey-hole in Pakistan at least two years before Obama took the wheel of a ship of state that was already sinking under enormous debt Bush and his cronies left behind.

Bin Laden could have been turned into mulch years ago in Afghanistan when our troops were blowing up the festering Taliban dung heap and shifting rubble with areal bombardement. BUT NO!

It took less than four years for the Navy Seals under Obama to dig up the trail and bury Bin Laden.

In fifty years, after we’re all dead and gone, the secret deals and back-room perfidy that characterized the US under Bush the Second will be revealed and its going to stink.

What a stunning display of wanton ignorance…

  9. GregAllen says:

It’s just sad to look at these old videos of Bush and see how clearly over-his-head he was.

And perplexing to understand how conservatives could think this man was so brilliant.

“On the run” and “in a cave?” That’s one big cave!

I remember years ago , before 911 on the old
Tom Snyder late night show, a guest said
the descent people who share are values
aren’t the rebels but are the invading Russians!

  14. aslightlycrankygeek says:

Obama reminds me of Baltar on Battlestar Galactaca. He saw an opportunity of perceived weakness when Bush started talking like this and seized onto it. I think Bush was right in this video, but it was very bad politically to lose focus of Bin Laden. Even if it was originally done for political posturing, I salute Obama for sticking with this issue as he promised in the campaign.

  15. Dallas says:

OBL outsmarted this turd of a president.

OBL turned a $10,000 investment into bleeding the US treasury and having Bush declare a crusade against the Muslim world. OBL couldn’t of asked for a better playout with this buffoon in charge.

That was then. The enigma is seeing all the supposedly “educated” Bush lackey ass kissers still praising Bush – even using a blog alias!!!

Good grief, we are fucked as a nation!

  16. Nitroneo says:

He was marginalized because he was in control of the CIA, inside a secret Pakistan prison, built by Haliburton, using US war funds.

The building could be viewed in two ways. Either a fortress, or a prison. Just because the government says it was to keep people out, doesn’t mean it couldn’t also be used to keep people in.

  17. Mr. Fusion says:

Bush jr is gone. His legacy remains, he drove the country into the worse recession in 80 years, he got us into two wars for no apparent reason, he removed regulations and oversight that allowed “thieves” to raid our life savings, and his porous border allowed more illegal immigration that all the previous Presidents combined.

  18. Olo Baggins of Bywater says:

Rummy was on CNN this morning, sounding fairly reasonable. As to the Bush strategy, he says that they thought they were giving this guy way too much publicity, which they felt could enhance his recruitment efforts. Maybe that’s why he and Bush quit looking for OBL in 2005. Actually, it looks like they used OBL as a political tool, forgetting about him to focus on Saddam and remembering OBL to build fear before the elections.

Yet, Fox News has been streaming the narrative that Bush gets credit for locating OBL. So, Bush gets credit for a 2011 capture, but Obama takes the blame for financial messes created in 2006. Gotta love that wingnut press.

Obama has shown us how great is our military when led by a competent president and on a well-conceived mission.

It was a stunning achievement and this burns the butts of the conservatives who fancy themselves the brilliant military minds.

What defines “brilliant” conservative military tactics? Outsourcing the capture of Osama bin Laden to his former allies of just weeks before!

C’mon, mharry, even you have to admit in some private moments — Bush and Rumsfeld’s decision to do that will go down as one of the most boneheaded moves in military history.

And yet, you cheered them on as genius! Just genius!

And Obama, who gets the job done in the most efficient manner with the least causalities, is — in your mind — the worst in history.

This is just bizarro-world thinking on your part.

  20. MikeN says:

Hahaha, you guys will go to your grave falling for Bush’s tricks. He pretends to be dumb, and liberals fall for it hook line and sinker, despite the evidence of an IQ higher than Kerry, only a bit less than Gore. He pretends not to care about Osama. Pretends he was a drug user, and liberals go hunting down that rabbit hole.

Just read the articles on Osama’s capture. The special operations in Pakistan have been going on for several years. Bush started it. Info came from either Guantanamo detainees and/or waterboarding. Civilian trials would have meant no info.

    For that matter:

Hersh then went on to describe a second area of extra-legal operations: the Joint Special Operations Command. “It is a special wing of our special operations community that is set up independently,” he explained. “They do not report to anybody, except in the Bush-Cheney days, they reported directly to the Cheney office. … Congress has no oversight of it.”

“It’s an executive assassination ring essentially, and it’s been going on and on and on,” Hersh stated. “Under President Bush’s authority, they’ve been going into countries, not talking to the ambassador or the CIA station chief, and finding people on a list and executing them and leaving. That’s been going on, in the name of all of us.”

  21. MikeN says:

It gets worse for Bush is an idiot, Obama is awesome crowd.

“The file suggests that the courier’s identity was provided to the US by another key source, the al-Qaida facilitator Hassan Ghul, who was captured in Iraq in 2004 and interrogated by the CIA.”

Last summer, the Associated Press reports, al-Kuwaiti/Ahmed made a fatal mistake: he called someone under NSA surveillance. After showing up on the grid, CIA operatives on the ground were able to hunt him.

  22. MikeN says:

  28. ± says:

Bush (and therefore others) already knew that Obama was in all probability dead. Killed and underneath tons of rock; a death never to be confirmed many years ago.

The fabricated denouement is a long overdue way to get out of this mess. This is a major good lie by our governance. A lie which will go to their heads if indeed they even need such encouragement. Get ready for way worse.

Thank you Republican and Democrat voters for the mess we have. When you stop blaming the people you elected and start accepting responsibility yourselves as the people who hired them, then maybe you won’t vote D or R any more.
