  1. KD Martin says:

Eisner must have the Kindle 0.01C. The Kindle 3 loads a new page in about 200 msec.

  2. Its an amazing thing in marketing how there is really nothing new under the sun – ideas are just reborn
It used to be that people lined up at car dealerships each fall for the new line up of cars
The cars would be kept under wraps physically at the car and truck automobile dealerships
Customers would line outside the store and gawk
Its the same here no doubt – only instead of automobiles its little electronic devices
People buy products be it cars , trucks or in this case little electronic devices for use and function – whether its transportation or electronic surfing
Why on earth they “must have ” the new Apple is beyond any real uses – its mostly ego
My local staples is getting in the must have Blackberry tablet – of which they have virtually no product information have
    What is the cost – $ 299
    That sounded good
In the end the imitation is just as pricey as the real product – in the end the Apple still wins the day
It goes to show you – that marketing dealing with human nature remains the same over the eons – whether in automobiles or tablets

  3. The Dude says:

The downhill spiral continues.. JCD doesn’t know what to do with an ipad. He doesn’t know how to google. Which one of those clowns changes his underwear for him?

  4. thi says:

what is it with these old PC pundits smirking at Apple? Over a decade ago, these pundits were laughing at Apple for doing so poorly. But these days this continues even after Apple is showing success? Shame on them.

  5. deowll says:

Okay so what do you do with your Ipad? Think about it carefully before you mouth off or you will find yourself explaining that you think you have a real cool toy and you are just hacked because some of use don’t agree.

Molly Wood bought an Ipad and her son loves it. I think Patrick Norton pretty much said the same thing. This is a really great toy for toddlers.

If you are a road warrior it’s between a smart phone and laptop and you can definitely get along without it while it doesn’t replace either.

My netbook still does a better job of meeting my modest needs for mobile computing and a Kendel or my computer for reading.

I use an I7-920 with 9 gig of ram and 30 inch monitor at home or a 52 inch TV or the Kendel. How is an Ipad going to improve my life?

If an Ipad meets your needs fine but I strongly suspect that Amazon is going to come out with something that will better meet my needs in a year or so.

Until then stay cool. Not everybody enjoys playing with the same toys.

  6. Pikachu says:

There *is* such a thing as a color e-Ink display, and it has been shown off at expos.

I think the issue is manufacturing it…

  7. The Dude says:

#6 You must not ever leave your house, because I see ipads being used everyday. Ever been to a hospital, or doctors office? Toys huh…

I think you’re not happy because I call out on your great great great grandfather.

  8. Honest Man says:

Pedro i guess all the droid tablets are toys too??

“Consumer Reports released their tablet ratings today, and found the iPad 2 to be the best tablet they tested. “

  9. The Dude says:

Pedro, Why do you feel a need to fabricate pseudo facts?

I never said iPads were the only thing used in the medical field. I never said anything about medical image post processing. I haven’t rationalized the ipad is the panacea of the world. I simply stated I see iPads out in the real world doing important things.

Do you really think “everyone else just slide the extra battery they carry”? No, not everyone carrys an extra tablet battery. I would bet most don’t. Again, you invent nonsense. Grasping for straws on a topic nobody else mentioned.

You really need to get out of the house more to observe reality and stop being to biased and narrow minded! (That is if you wish to better yourself and learn things)

  10. The Dude says:

Once again, you invent nonsense for the purpose of arguing. i.e. My toy? I don’t even own an ipad, and I certainly don’t have ANY god that I worship. I’m a macfan? When did this happen? I’m a fan of things that work well. If it happens to be an ipad or whatever so be it. Why do you insist of making up these lies? You have lots of hate in your heart for Apple for some reason and I won’t fall for your Ritalin fueled tirade. BUT, There is a fact to be seen here by all. We see your constant posts all over this blog making it obvious you’re trying to make a name for yourself by clinging to John’s ball sack. Good luck with that!

  11. The Dude says:

“You don’t own one yet you feel the need to defend it.”

I don’t need to own one to see professionals successfully using them as a tool. I call it like i see it, I’m not afraid.

“You didn’t want to be labeled as a macfan? Well, too late for that, after 2 posts defending the thing.”

So that’s all it takes by your definition? Sad..

“I want you to call JCD ballsuckers to all the people who work on the blog. ”

Why would I want to do that? Because you want me to? I never said “ball sucker” Those are exclusively your words of fiction. You’d better go back reread what I said. There are some good contributors here. They know who they are. A couple just cling for hopes of any amount of sweaty drivel from JCD’s success instead of making a name for themselves. You’d better catch some while you can, because there isn’t much left from I’ve been reading lately, and on your own you don’t have much to say that’s not twisted or narrow minded.

    “BTW, a little English lesson”
