  3. ECA says:

ROUGHING IT, is not a concept kids know anymore..

I wont go into BOY SCOUTS, and what they are learning.

  4. Uncle Patso says:

    #7: Check for cell coverage.

  5. mysticgeek says:

Don’t forget the Satellite Dish on top on the camper!

  6. Personality says:

Sounds about right you fat fatty Americans.

  7. Floyd says:

My friends and I like to hike when in the outdoors, and may have a beer or pop when we get back from our trip. We’re in the minority.

From what I’ve seen of others “roughing it” in the woods, Beer is more important than anything else. That includes fishing and hunting equipment, which the campers bring along but never use. People that actually go somewhere other than camp (hiking, fishing or hunting) seem to be rare.

  8. Podman says:

I only go camping at the Grand Hyatt or similar establishments so the camping trailer would be surplus to my needs.

  9. Yankinwaoz says:

I think she hilarious. I’m sure she answered their “Survey” with pure sarcasm and now is laughing her ass off that they published it.

  10. Steve says:

I pulled into a KOA campground in Central California late one night. In the morning I poked my head out of my tent to see a woman in the next site wearing a bathrobe with her hair up in curlers, cigarette dangling from her mouth, vacuuming her trailer floor. The image is crystal-clear 35 years later.

  11. Uncle Dave says:

Considering how much I hated camping the several times I’ve done it, I’d say replace all of them with:

    1. Directions to the nearest motel.

  12. deowll says:

Two TVs? Can’t they make do with a couple of Ipads?

Okay so I can get by with a radio, a phone, and a Kendal.

Actually if the region has phone service you need one with you to summon help if you fall down and can’t get back up as it were.

  13. illinoise says:

Maybe the governor of Pennsylvania was right… we’re turning into a bunch of wussies

  14. Holdfast says:

    Tent
    Stove
    Food
    Sleeping Bags
    Reading Material
The things she listed indicated that she was not actually camping.

I have been asked “isn’t that a bit hard and uncomfortable?”
Definitely not. I got to the site in a car, not on a route march. Carry a 15Litre day sac and go where/when I like.
Hard was carrying 120lbs of kit, walking for days in mud, keeping my rifle clean and going where I was ordered. Army food was good though – unless we were on survival training!

  15. Glenn E. says:

That should read, “5 Things to take to Fat Camping”. Because it might be too great a shock to unplug from the modern world that got one so fat and unfit, in the first place. Pizza withdrawal can be especially nasty.

  16. MrMiGu says:

All of those things are sure going to make portaging a bitch.
