I wonder what the job description was:

We’re looking for 2 idiots to stand in the lion exhibit and act like you’re the dominant male.

  2. Mac Guy says:

His mistake was made at about 15 seconds. Eye contact with a large male lion is NEVER a good idea.

  3. @tma says:

Seriously, that lion must have just been playing. There’s nothing either of those guys could have done if it’d actually gotten worked up.

What I do find interesting is that the lion acts a lot like our house cat does, when she’s playing with a bug or something else small she’s about to destroy.

  4. RSweeney says:

Give them a break, the lion’s are under a lot of stress over MGM’s financial troubles.

  5. ECA says:

    He went down the HoOoOlLlLeEeee

  6. The0ne says:

Meh, kinda like those squirrel videos posted here…I want some blood and torned limbs dammit!!!

  7. asd says:

Translation for some voices in the background:
“They’re not playing now, they’re not playing!”

  8. SimonSezz says:

The lion is pissed because MGM has indefinitely postponed any new James Bond movies.

  9. deowll says:

Agreed, the cat was just playing or the man would never have made it out under his own steam. On the other hand when cats play with something it can get seriously messy and the guy better stay out of the cage.

  10. clancys_daddy says:

Wild animals play until they don’t play, at which point the play object becomes the prey object. This was play.

  11. Dallas says:

He left to change his underwear.

  12. Rich says:

All I can think of its what a beautiful, awesome animal that male lion is. And what was the female doing, trying to get him to chill out?

  13. Bhelverson says:

Lions are social animals and it is natural for a male to check to see who is dominant from time to time. Cats do the same thing. This behavior is completely natural and I’m glad that there is no outcry to punish the animal. Lions will be lions.

  14. ECA says:

    #14..
WHAT THE F#$@%@ are you talking about?

Lions male, ship THEIR OWN MALES OUT…or kill them.
    PRIDES are 95% FEMALE..

Males kill ANY young that ISNT THEIRS..

    Where is the social?

  15. Mark Derail says:

Holy Smokes. I was THERE just 4 weeks ago !!!

I remember seeing on how bored the poor beasts were.

IMHO that glassed cage of lions is a joke, at least Mandalay Bay has a great big aquarium that is interesting to look at for an hour.

Looking at bored cats is as exciting as watching bread rise.

LASER POINTER !!! OMG I should have used one, got a cat to track it, and unleash total chaos…

  16. dexton7 says:

I think that the male lion was just letting the guy starring at him that he was the dominant lion in the room. Male lions aren’t known for their gentle nature and are extremely territorial.

The female looked like she was thinking “don’t hurt the hairless monkey that gives us food!” but then I could be wrong.

  17. dexton7 says:

    # 16 Mark Derail,

Interesting experiment… will lions chase a laser pointer? Maybe the cubs would. It’s odd that I can’t find some weirdo that’s tried this and posted it on youtube.

I thought everything in the universe has been videoed and put on the internet. huh.
