And then there’s the model of a Russion city, 1/6th scale.

This is better than “standard” art – paintings and such. When was the last time sculpture make you smile? Very cool.

  2. Mark T. says:

Hmm, that jello San Francisco might make a great earthquake simulator!

  3. Smartalix says:

That’s nothing – The Panorama of the City of New York is a complete model of the city to scale, it’s the largest architectural model in existence.

  4. Dave very cool!!!!

  5. RBG says:

Small, picky point – and I could be wrong on this:

The caption for the Russian City says the model is 1/6th scale. But if that tower the guy is holding was three times as big, it would be roughly as tall as the guy. Double that and it becomes 6 times as big as what he is holding (and twice as tall as the man himself). But doesn’t the structure look like a tower many, many stories high? Do the same for that bus in the foreground. Imagine it 6 X longer. Could he and 30 others get into it? Ladies and gentlemen, I submit to you that the scale is incorrectly indicated as 1/6th scale.

Tomorrow I shall pontificate upon lint extracted from my belly button.

  6. Cognito says:

#5 I agree. A 1/6 scale person would be roughly 30 cm tall. The vehicles in the foreground are much smaller than that.
Extracted in the morning or the evening?

  7. James Hill says:

San Fran never looked so… fruity?

  8. Tom says:

    mmmmm jello.

  9. Richard says:

Strange. Nobody commented that this “Russion” city is clearly Moscow as the web page say too.

  10. Mike Drips says:

They attempted to create Emeryville in Jell-o but found it too challenging to attempt to recreate the massive Dvorak mansion at 1/24th scale. Plus there was the problem of not being able to find Jell-o in the color of Ecru, Fushia and John’s personal favorite, Blort.

  11. Angel H. Wong says:

No leather bars made of jello? No bathhouses made of jello? then it’s not SF.

  12. Mark T. says:

James, I thought that too but I didn’t want to go there.
