MS business should be to patch their OS on PCs to the safest known state, no matter what the user have/haven’t done to their system, not to worry if patch will kill compromised system.

  2. Buzz says:

    Dear Mr. Jobs,

We who depend on Adobe for its good side would like to urge you to purchase Adobe; then fix it.

    Thank you very much.

    Yours always,

    Buzz

  3. Angel H. Wong says:

    #2 Buzz,

If Apple Buys Adobe it will mean that the Windows version will be super glitchy (allegedly on purpose) while the OSX version will be flawless because their final version HAS the bugs fixed.

  4. mcjojo says:

I think people need to get over this dev for iphone deal. The only way to make stuff for Xbox Live is to use c# and visual studio, I dont see anyone complaining about that? I know it sux but move on!

  5. Rufus says:

In the middle of the Recession, Apple is releasing expensive products that we don’t need. And yet everyone is fussing over Adobe’s flash CPU hog?

After seeing the new Macbook Pro 15 price ($1800) I realized I will never own an Apple again. I ordered a Thinkpad Edge 15 for $700 instead.

  6. Lou Minatti says:

John, you are so wrong about the iPad. Which is surprising because you have a pretty good track record, your “mouse column” excepted.

Apple’s PR people are in massive spin overload right now and the bullshit is pouring out of Cupertino.

  7. KMFIX says:

Adobe will lose. Apple’s product, Apple’s software… Get over it. Buy something else. There are other options.

  8. jacoblee says:

    John,

Found out this is how your print from your ipad:

    http://www.theformgroup.com/about/blog/2010/04/how-to-print-from-an-ipad

I think apple built a car with no seats windows or mirrors. Just an engine and 4 wheels.

  9. Zybch says:

I’d just LOVE it if MS or Google bought Adobe.
Even though that’s very unlikely to occur, Adobe should immediately put any future development of its CS products for mac on hold, and even give large discounts for users upgrading from an older mac versions to the upcoming CS5 for Windows (as well as making the windows version bootcamp/parallels aware so they can’t run on a mac at all).

Adobe is the ONLY reason there is still a company called Apple. It was their software and the hardware sales it generated for Apple that kept the wolves at bay till crybaby Jobs came back and punished the world with the first iProduct abomination.

I just don’t get why Apple have constantly refused to work with Adobe to make Flash on the mac 1/2 as stable as it is on the PC. My guess is that its Steve Job’s and his super-sized ego that is the sticking point, probably over some imaginary slight he made up and came to believe Adobe made.

“We’re sorry but we’re unable to stream videos to your system. This may be due to an Adobe software limitation on 64-bit Linux systems.”

That is the message I received the other day from Hulu. Interestingly enough, last year I was able to use Hulu with a 64-bit Lunix system.

Yes, I do have the latest version of the Flash plugin that Adobe provides for my Linux system.

Adobe is a great company as long as you are using their products on systems they support well.

  11. Killer Duck says:

Why would Adobe win? Try going to GE and tell them you want them to open the APIs up for your dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. They will laugh. There is no reason a HW vendor has to open any system up for another vendor to write software. If you don’t like, don’t buy Apple, go get one of a billion linux distros.
I am so sick of Flash and Reader being full of security vulns.
