I’m kind of surprised you didn’t have a small segment on NEWZBIN. It’s actually big news since they don’t host any binaries of any kind and only report, in a simpler way, what the newsgroups have. So, if the RIAA and the MPAA can shut you down for reporting information, they can damn sure shut you down for having information. NEWZBIN today, USENET tomorrow.

The iPad will be this generation’s Edsel.

Damn, I bought a classic. Thought it might be nice between commercials during the Yankee games. Looks like it might be a nice reader too.

Over there in Europe they cranked the LHC up to full power (7 TeV) for the first time. We could have done this stuff down in Texas back in the mid 90s, but congress cheaped out. They are looking for a particle called the Higgs Boson. Finding that thing will further confirm what about all of the physicists already believe about reality. I watched the event live. The video replay may be ready by now:

I’m not all that sure Apple even cares all that much about the Mac any more. If they do they aren’t showing it.

On the changes your morality thing. I don’t believe it impairs your morality so much as it impairs up your thinking. I doubt if you could make good choices about much of anything after they do this to you so why would moral choices be any different than let’s say stock choices or deciding to wait or try to beat the red light?

I would add that I hope the effects wear off fast or somebody is in a whole heap of trouble.

Wonderful! I really did not think about this topic before from your point of view. But now I am thinking about your idea. I’ve also discussed with my friends about your post.

Thank you John C Dvorak I’ve bookmarked this page for my reference.

JCD: “…We could be re-creating the Big Bang… Hmmm? Hmmm?”

More stars in the universe than all the grains of sand on all the beaches on Earth… All the Earth-like planets associated with those stars, and yet no messages or planetary colonialization over billions of years?

Gee. I wonder what could have happened?
