What is with the Japanese anyway? Not that this isn’t funny, but how many people get killed or injured by these stunts?

From what I’ve read these shows don’t use real people for stuff like this but actors.
Why cant we do that in America???
SUE happy… NO more fun.
If you think that is funny, check out Silent Library ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2X-1aaGf0sw ) a show where contestants are chosen russian roulette style, and the loser has to endure horrifying stunts. Very Funny.
I often wonder what shows like this say about the audience. If they’re demanding this garbage, then the Japanese networks would be silly to not give the (apparently really stupid) people what they want. Supply and demand. Or something like it.
Then I look at an American television landscape littered with Jerry Springer and not-quite-real reality shows and I realize we’re not too far removed from them.
I fear for the planet’s future.
Using actors makes more sense.
These are really old, actually. YouTube has a lot of them. You should see the episode with the dissolving paper bikini. Even the Japanese can’t get away with this any more, though. Their studios would probably get sued as well these days.
They’re obviously actors…look at the very first one as he rolls backwards…then rolls again under his own power for good measure. The old man in the second one may not have been an actor, but he damn well knew what was going to happen.
Come on…oh, and guess what John, pro-wrestling isn’t real either.

Seen the ads for the Jackass 2 movie?
J/P=?
Complete morons.
It would make better then the REAL life crap on TV..
LOL
A little was taken away with the realization it probably was all staged. But then you have to ask yourself how different it might have been if they could have gotten away with it using real people. While these folks were probably models, I can imagine a cash/signed pre-release situation that might not give it all away to the signees. But just the mechanical practicalities of it all still makes it pretty funny.

11.You touch on what is reality. The movie “The Truman Show” is what I’m getting at. How do you know YOU are not Truman. If we were all perfect actors how would you know you were just be used for someone else’s entertainment. This concept is 2,000 years old and comes from Hinduism where supposedly Brahmin (the watching Creator) is enjoying our show.
An example is that of the painting, “Madonna and Child” by Duccio which the Metropolitan Museum in NYC purchased for $45 million! It has been determined to be a fake. But with so much at stake and invested in believing it is authentic, denial will take over. In fact, life is like that. How can one say that there is no God? “What would happen to me? Where would I stand? NO. I don’t care, I’m going back to believing something that is not true because it offers me SECURITY. I can’t stand to be alone in a mysterious Universe.”
Aren’t we all just actors in this play called Life?
Found another awesome prank by the same show. This one involves rising port-o-potties. What is it with the Japanese and public nudity? lol

12 & 13. Interesting juxtaposition. I think I can figure which one is real life.
0113addiv, what in the world are you talking about? It’s insane. How can you not know that all the people in the world freeze and deactivate when you are not looking at them?

RBG, We discussed just that point during our last production meeting, I don’t know why they haven’t at your’s. Remember, if someone asks too many questions, it could be that they just aren’t rally part of the crew. Refer them to the script master.
My wife, who is Japanese, says that they use comedic actors for those stunts, but that does not mean that the actor knows what is going to happen to them. They are not aware of the stunt beforehand. Also, they wouldn’t sue because they want the publicity.
