Desperate road safety chiefs in Romania have put up traffic signs warning motorists of drunk pedestrians.

Following an increase in traffic accidents involving drunks stumbling into the road the Mayor Petru Antal ordered the signs saying ‘Attention – Drunks’ complete with an image of a reveller on his knees with a bottle.

“We are a border town and have lots of cars thundering through here all the time,” he explained.

“But we also have a very vibrant nightlife and the two don’t mix. We have to target the drivers because by the time they get to this state the pedestrians are beyond caring.”

They could make a mint selling these online….

I could see them in dorm rooms everywhere.

  2. ECA says:

You make it illegal to drive when drunk..
In Many cities its illegal to BE OUTSIDE drunk..
So what can a person do?

    Call a CAB you say?
When I live a block or 2 away..
I say nay nay, as I sway along my way..

  3. newglenn says:

No wonder he’s drunk. Looks like he got his ass chewed out at work today.

  4. sargasso says:

Where i live, they would give drunks their own road lane.

  5. Named says:

Could be useful. Driving from Poznan to Warsaw was a very interesting experience… 1.5 lanes each way on a major thoroughfare for the Berlin – Moscow route you would pass many people walking along side the road… or riding their bike… or walking their horse.

I was warned that you might find some drunks stumbling along and that was some excellent advice. I did see a few…

    I love it
Its going to be a long cold winter without that bottle !

  7. Buffet says:

I abhor drunken weaklings. They deserve whatever they get.

  8. Cursor_ says:

    Waste of time and money.

A mere sign will not stop stupid drug users from stumbling out on the street and being killed by self-indulgent drivers with no sense of speed or compassion for anything but themselves.

The herd will be thinned in the end.

  10. NelsonOH says:

Reminds of a character who was employed with my company and now retired. He used to “call in sick” from the bar around 2:30 a.m. The noisy crowd could be heard in the background. These were in the days before cell phones. The skeleton crew on hand called it “calling in drunk”.

  11. a says:

In Many cities its illegal to BE OUTSIDE drunk..

    only in America

  12. The0ne says:

My next vacation destination! Can’t wait to get on the road 24/7 to hunt me some good old drunks.

BTW, I’m doing everyone a favor in case you’re curious…y’know, like PETA ^_-y
