It’s amazing how easily the news media is fooled by a simple laser trick. It’s a laser shot into a cloud. The fact that it’s white means they are probably using a krypton laser which lases at 4 frequencies that combined produce a white light. This laser is used in laser shows and the beam is split with a prism into 4 colors to produce a color laser show. So they could produce a UFO of multiple colors.

It’s the motion of the object that gave it away. You bump it a little and you get that specific motion.

How do I know this? My first paid computer project back in 1981 was to build a custom computer to control lasers shows. So I’ve seen this before.

Case solved!

(btw – the Toyota Prius problem – IT’S THE COMPUTER!)

Gosh. I really believed that the 504,387th unidentified flying object wouldn’t turn out to be a hoax like all the rest before it. I bet the 504,388th will be the real ETs!

    Yeah. Right.

  18. Hmm says:

A laser would need to reflect off of a surface to for people to see it as a point of light. If there were dense clouds, maybe. Although my guess is you’d probably see a beam as well as a point of light if there were a lot of clouds. This is probably not a laser. Although that’s still more likely than an alien spacecraft.

  19. Glenn E. says:

I suspected a projected beam of some kind, involving that “spiral” in the night sky, that was reported weeks ago. Especially when it was mentioned to have a “tail”. But by the looks of it, that tail was streaming back toward the ground. Not from higher up in the sky. Probably the projector beam encountering thinner clouds along the way. Until it hit one dense enough to fully reflect off of. Don’t think a mist can be used as a projector screen. See the 1st season of the SeaQuest Tv series. In the Captain’s quarters.

  20. ufo key tower says:

then why not take your computer and its laser down to key tower at night and prove that is was a laser from a computer..

  21. Aaron says:

I’m co-Director of the Cleveland Ufology Project.
I investigated this case. I’d like to see more concrete evidence for this laser theory. Just an opinion on a blog doesn’t do it for me. I would not conclude it was a laser. Is there more information? Why don’t bloggers ever post their email addresses? The cloud ceiling was 11,000 feet I think and it was pretty much solid clouds and some rain. I’d like to see a laser that can project a spot of light that far away WITHOUT any evidence of a beam. How many people have krypton lasers and go shoot them in the air in the middle of the night? I like how these day anyone can watch a YouTube video type one paragraph of their opinion and they’re an expert. Case solved? Not really.

    • Thomas says:

I own high powered lasers that can easily light up a cloud 11,000 feet up and more. You are correct, it would be practically impossible to have conditions that would not provide some evidence of a beam. Now if the cloud layer was lower, like maybe 1000 feet or less it would be possible in some conditions. To see the beam there has to be something in the air for the beam to hit and scatter the light. In the vacuum of space you would never see a laser beam. Moisture, dust, smoke, even minute amounts of it can scatter the laser light and make the beam visible. Also, the more powerful the laser the more light there is to scatter and the brighter it will be. On a clear, dry day with no pollution it is possible for a laser to pass relatively cleanly through the air without a lot of scatter, but on a cloudy day with a higher humidity there is a high chance that the beam would have been quite apparent.

  22. Tell me all you UFO believers. If these things are being flown by intelligent beings and I assume they do not want to be seen, WHY fly with the lights on? Doesn’t sound very intelligent to me. Hell even us lowly humans can fly around without being seen, DUH, you turn off the lights. Sound more like an unintelligent phenomena being misinterpreted by people who want to make it into aliens.

If they want to be seen why only fly around at night and avoid being seen. Fly right over Cleveland with a big banner “We Come In Peace”. If they want to tell us something why tell it to some drunk hillbilly or woman living in a trailer park, give your big important message to someone who is respected and know for being non-crazy.

This is what is called Critical Thinking. If it sounds like BS, it most likely is BS.

    • steve says:

The obvious gap in your ‘critical thinking’ David is this assumption you have that they don’t want to be seen, paired with your assumption that they want to make contact. Both are false. They DO want to be seen, and thats why the sightings keep happening around the world. But they want to do so at a distance…the same way we monitor animals from afar. We are primitive animals in comparison – they to us is like us to house cat. Obviously they’re evolved enough to not want to take responsibility for us, and all the mayhem that would occur from our rampant human fear, hostility, distrust & anxiety. Who would want to deal with us? …but they show themselves so hopefully we’ll start to evolve & stop having irrational fearbased response to them (like how our govt keeps not acknowledging them or admitting the sightings…which reveals our level of denial to them)
So maybe lets stop being meatheads & we’ll get lucky & they’ll actually agree to raise up our knowledge to new planetary possibilities!!

  23. Some of you may remember the sightings of UFOs over Morristown, N.J. earlier this year, it to was captured on video that has been posted to YouTube. And I bet still being used as proof.

It turned out to be simply two guys tying road flairs to balloons. They did it to prove a point, so called “Experts” said they could not explain the light and their movements implying it could only be aliens.

So imaging getting some cheap bright flashing LED lights and a few good size balloons, instant UFOs. I would bet money a hoax is more likely than aliens pilots.
