London, Feb 6 (IANS) Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan isn’t intimidated by the full body-scan machines that have been recently installed at London’s airports – in fact, he’s been signing off printouts of his X-rays. ‘I was in London recently going through the airport and these new machines have come up, the body scans. You’ve got to see them. It makes you embarrassed – if you’re not well endowed.

‘You walk into the machine and everything – the whole outline of your body – comes out.’

Khan said he did not know that the body-scans – installed in the wake of last year’s abortive Christmas Day bombing of a transatlantic flight over Detroit – showed up every little detail of one’s body. ‘I was a little scared. Something happens [inside the scans], and I came out.

‘Then I saw these girls – they had these printouts. I looked at them. I thought they were some forms you had to fill. I said ‘give them to me’ – and you could see everything inside. So I autographed them for them.’

Impossible, according to Transportation Secretary Lord Adonis (there is a joke in there somewhere):

The Cabinet Minister said the images from the scans are deleted “immediately” and staff carrying out the procedure are fully trained and supervised. “At the moment, people accept that they are subject to a pat-down search when they have gone through the metal detector,” he told BBC Breakfast.

“A pat-down search is a pretty intrusive procedure but people accept that because it is important that we do detect whether there are weapons or other powerful substances that people may be carrying. “A body scanner is in the same category – it is very important to stress that the images which are captured by body scanners are immediately deleted after the passenger has gone through the body scanner.

“Staff are, of course, properly trained and supervised who manage the body scanners.”

If you have nothing to hide, then what’s the problem….. Right?

London’s airport security didn’t believe what they saw so I had to let the beast out. I signed my scans “Italian Sausage”

  2. KarmaBaby says:

I just went swimming, I swear! Next time I travel, I’m going to put a Dirk Diggler Boogie Nights-size appendage in my pants and then gauge the reaction.

  3. Serious says:

I’ll opt for the pat-down. At least then there are no images what-so-ever; and if that means being felt up by a person at least it will leave things to their imagination.

  4. reader1 says:

Wow Adam was right again he predicted that some celebrity photo like Jessica alba or something going to come out of this in the NoAgenda Podcast, this guy knows something he is the next Nostradamus,

meanwhile this is a good motivation to get in shape, so you won’t be made fun of by the TSA, they are really bullies in real sense.

  5. ogman says:

This idiot has been trying to mess with airport security forever. He has no credibility at all.

  6. Father says:

So, what you’re saying, is that there will eventually be “scanner” based porn.

  7. Jess Hurchist - the leftist says:

So, he’s in the UK to rustle up some publicity.
    Mission accomplished

  8. R says:

It’s possible that MORE people will be hiding things in their crotch area just so it looks like they’re better endowed. It could become a nightmare for security as they try to sort out what is actually a risk and what isn’t.

  9. arpie says:

Sounds like B.S. for free publicity… mission accomplished.

  10. Ron Larson says:

Isn’t this the same asshat who went crying to the media a while back because he wasn’t given preferential treatment by the US CIS because he is an Indian film star? If I recall, he had just done a movie about how terrible the US is and had to drum up some publicity about it.

Second, why is the TSA talking about what the UK does with THEIR images. It may be perfectly legal in the UK for scanners to retain the images. This happened in the UK, yet the US’s TSA somehow gets blamed or associated with it.

  11. jbellies says:

He got publicity for himself, and he got more traction than a simple complaint would have. To tell us that he autographed the scans (whether he did or not is irrelevant) is brilliant.

  12. Animby says:

Well, this might happen in the UK with their 1984 surveillance society but it could never, ever (ever) happen here in the good ole US of A!

    Right?

  13. JimD says:

Had to admit – he’s got BALLS !!!

  14. Buzz says:

I am DEFINITELY smuggling some pepperoni next trip.

  15. fartacus says:

What a lame publicity stunt. “Bollywood”. BARF!
