I can’t donate guys. The kids need the cash more than you guys.

Want to buy a bus? I’m taking bids.

  2. bobbo, well, lets review the tripe so far says:

    Please read!!!

If you are an owner of a dog even if it doesn’t belong to a ‘dangerous breed’ category and you also have a child or a visiting small child please take this as a warning.

Don’t leave your dog with a small child unattended under any circumstances!!!

Only one little moment was enough for the following to happen.

    See the photo below …..

((and here is a photo of a pit bull with white fur laying on his side with a 5 yo marking him all up with colored crayons. Cute, yes. But who do you “blame” if for any of a number of reasons the dog bites the kid in the face? I say every good dog deserves one free bite. Others may disagree.))

PS–“you know” the whole human directed evolution of dogs is really quite instructive. They take “cues” from humans in ways that even apes, and some ex girl friends, are not capable of==all thru selection. Why we haven’t done that with cats is beyond me. Shouldn’t take more than a few dozen generations.

I had to put my Puppy to sleep this morning and I thank you for helping me remember how great his life was.

  4. Improbus says:

All dogs and some children are AWESOME!

  5. Mojo Yugen says:

If this is true my crazy-ass bitch is going to live forever.

  6. Angel H. Wong says:

If this kid develops a boner while his dog dies he should get a job as a research scientist. The type who kills dogs with pneumatic drills just to see how much stress a helmet can take.

  7. The DON says:

I laughed when I read the last line, then thought “what is so funny about it?”

Kids can learn from what they are told, then we are surprised when they act upon said learning. This peer pressure then drives them to hide what they have learned.

  8. admash says:

You made me choke up at work.

    Thanks a lot.

  9. gooddebate says:

Thanks Dave, nice find. That’s an amazing insight for anyone much less a 6 year old. Nothing like being shown up by a child to humble a person.

  10. gmknobl says:

    Excellent.

  11. ECA says:

For all the things we are taught as children, and then to reverse all of it to survive in a world made by Man.

remember, that if you have a duck and it has a squeaker, that its supposed to be a Quacker.

  12. Rectal Dysfunction says:

Seen it before. Having 3 dogs, I can attest it’s true.

  13. Zybch says:

What a load of made-up sentimental bullshit!

If the kid was so damn wonderful they HE should be put to sleep too as hes only gonna get more cynical and jaded as his life continues.
Stop the cycle, kill more kids!

  14. Floyd says:

Excellent insight from a six year old about a good dog.
“Why we haven’t done that with cats is beyond me. Shouldn’t take more than a few dozen generations.”

Bobbo: Cats have been domesticated for a long time, since they kept rats and mice away from Egyptian granaries. They were deified for their skills (the goddess Bast). All cats are still mousers at heart, and their personalities are still formed by the skill of killing rodents.

Our three cats are all close to 8 years old, and are very loving. They do take emotional cues from from my wife and I. Eventually, they’ll be gone, and will all be missed.

  15. clancys_daddy says:

Gee people think I am a cynical asshole, some of you guys are making me look like a freaking saint.

  16. deowll says:

    I liked it.

  17. Animby says:

A piece of maudlin, over-the-top, sentimental, Hallmark bull that was probably manufactured not uttered by some child.

Why is it on this blog?

  18. Hastur says:

“I like pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals.”

“Why is it on this blog?”

Perhaps because directly above the article is …

“And now a short break from the mayhem of our daily lives … ”

… it was, and welcome at that.

I OCR’d it and sent it to folks who I knew would appreciate it.

I didn’t want to send true friends a link to this place …

ie #7 AHW … Adam Sandler? Is that you?
