Some of those storms are tornadoes.

When I lived in Indiana as a kid, I remember hearing a tornado jump over our house. They really do sound like a roaring freight train–very scary.

We got really lucky. There was no damage to the house. There were a few downed tree branches in the front yard and a broken lamppost.

same here #1, had an F3 jump our house back in ’66, scary as could be.

however these lightning pics are a bit lacking, the storms of ’69 that blew in off lake erie on july fourth had far more color to them.. i remember watching from our living room window at the orange, pink, yellow and blue white lightning .

    The video was enjoyable.

We had a Cat 5 in our county some years back. The results were interesting to say the least. It takes a pretty high wind to move an engine block that was setting out all by itself.
