  1. RTaylor says:

clancys_daddy you make some good points on self reliance and independence on others. I honestly hope you will remain safe from the endless amount of shit and hurt the Universe can toss your way.

  2. clancys_daddy says:

Has nothing to do with being safe, it has to do with perseverance. I was raised by a single mom, I was a latch key kid in the 70’s, my mother waited tables at night. So we didn’t see each other except in the mornings. We were poor by the very definition of the word. But we did not take any government handouts, no food stamps or other benefits etc. I survived and persevered. Straight A student through high school. I went to college on my dime, no government handouts or grants, (mainly because I never planned on going) working a 40 hour a week job, and maintained my GPA. I took everything the world could throw, and continue to do so. Instead of wallowing in self pity and crying to the universe poor pitiful me. I stood the fuck up and kept going. Life is pain and suffering get over it, having pain lets you know that your alive. Life is putting one foot in front of the other until you can’t. I wouldn’t trade a moment of my life for anything, I have no regrets.

  3. See my website for an update of the chart with the data available at 15:57 CET Jan 18. The US is now no longer leading in any category, even if calculates with the 100 million loan as a gift. The EU made sure to stay slightly ahead of the US in each of the three categories.Guyana and Norway still each lead their category, but there are some interesting changes in the following places.

  4. Todd Peterson says:

Never count on any help from Sweden …

  5. qb says:

My 20 year old daughter is putting herself through university carrying a full course load with an A- average, working 30 hours a week, has her own apartment, and gets around on city bus. We could help her out but she doesn’t need it.

She also donated $100 to Haitian relief efforts last week. She’s my hero.

  6. Here you go says:

Clancy’s Daddy (#33 and other numbers):

I sincerely hope an earthquake hits your house (and only your house) with your whole family inside it. I hope you all die horrible painful deaths with fire and prolonged hellish pain. Good on ya prick.

By-the-way those people you think are your friends, think again, behind your back they call you a shithead and one of them is screwing your wife.

  7. clancys_daddy says:

Its possible but statistically not likely so I don’t think I will lose sleep over it. He can have my wife I don’t have her anymore, girlfriends are much better. Oh I hope you don’t consider your self a christian with that attitude.

  8. clancys_daddy says:

#40 good for her, I’m still not giving.

  9. jescott418 says:

Charity always starts out great. But always ends badly. Just look at Katrina and probably any other major disaster in the last decade or so. People and governments so willing to get credit for what they are doing to help. Yet in a few months or less the media frenzy will have died and some other issue will take over our interests. Let’s not kid ourselves except for a few bleeding heart church organizations.
Nobody gave a crap about Haiti. The government is corrupt and the people are poor. Go figure.

  10. Canucklehead says:

who knew Clancys_daddy was Ebenezer Scrooge?

  11. qb says:

    #43 clancys_daddy

I wasn’t even thinking you of, I’m just one proud daddy. 😉

I see a lot of griping from people about “young people these days”. I generally think they’re pretty terrific.

  12. Mr. Fusion says:

    #25, Glenn,

That is because of Pat Robertson’s remark. Only devil worshipers are sending money.

    😉

  13. Mr. Fusion says:

    qb,

My 10 y/o insisted upon sending $10 too.

She is an A+ student, softball star and good basketball player. Only she doesn’t have her own apartment. Yet.

But I am very proud of her.

  14. Mr. Fusion says:

    clancy’s daddy,

Telling everyone to go eff them self has this nasty habit of backfiring. One of these days you will need someone to help and there won’t be anyone there.

Can I recommend Harry Chapin’s song Cat’s in the Cradle

  15. qb says:

Mr Fusion, she sounds like a great kid. You should be proud. Give her hugs while you can, they grow up so fast.

  16. traaxx says:

I’d be willing to spend the money for a nuke, if the US would us it and finally put Hati out of our misery. I’m so sick of that country, I’d like it and San Francisco to fall of the edge of the world.

Maybe Britain or France should take responsibility for their x-colony. SF is our fault and all the crap about tolerance and acceptance, you don’t see the Progressive Commies accepting individualism do you?

Just like homeland security, we spend all this time restricting our freedoms while the muslims do as they please. We could be secure tomorrow just shutdown the border, kick out the Mexican invaders.

Tariffs work, but they don’t further the Global Enslavement agenda do they.

    Whatever…………………
    Traaxx

  17. Mr. Fusion says:

    #51, traxx,

Spoken like a true man of god. Your mommy should be proud.

  18. clancys_daddy says:

Vilified by anonymous twits on the interweb tubes, I may actually shed a tear. Hang on a sec, Nope guess not.

As Charlie Daniels sings “And I ain’t askin’ nobody for nothing
if I can’t get it on my own
If you don’t like the way I’m livin’
    you just leave this
long haired country boy alone” or

Hank Williams jr. “Because you can’t starve us out and you can’t make us run
Cause we’se them ole boys raised on shotguns
We say grace and we say mamm if you ain’t in to that we don’t give a damn

We’re from North California and South Alabam and little towns all around this land
And we can skin a buck and run a trotline
And a country boy can survive country folks can survive
A country boy can survive country folks can survive”

  19. hootnany says:

Yeah, it’s a little hard to “persevere” when you don’t have the help of your own country providing opportunities, and you’ve just been hit with a devastating earthquake. Good job clancy for making yourself who you are in a country that, at the time was the easiest country to be able to do that in. If you don’t want to give, fine, but go preach your self-reliance nonesense at ahole.com. Your situation doesn’t really apply here…
