1. Dallas says:

Used to love that show even before I realized they were a gay couple doing good work for Gotham.

Wonder what ever happened to Robin? I think Adam West is still around.

  2. lambo says:

    Holy crap! That’s a lot of holy’s!

  3. Olo Baggins of Bywater says:

This is why guys created the Internet.

  4. FRAGaLOT says:

wonder how many times he said “Holey Shit” when the cameras weren’t rolling?

  5. Satan says:

“Holy knit one, purl two?” Really, Robin…

  6. Jetfire says:

#1 Burt Ward is still around did a little acting after being Robin. He’s a special effects contractor now.

Never got the them being gay thing. Always more a father/son thing Mentor/student but not homosexual. Now the show may have been a little gay but that’s different.

  7. Skeptic says:

Holy crap, everything on earth has been blessed !

  8. TThor says:

    “Legacy of Ashes”

  9. Tom Woolf says:

No “Holy oleo”?!? WHAT? That was the best one ever, and they left it out?

B&R are tied to large grills on the roof of a building, with large magnifying glasses ready to roast them. The evil mastermind mentions (s)he covered them in butter to help the cooking, and the following exchange occurs:

    Robin: “Holy oleo, Batman!”
Criminal: “Why, Robin – I didn’t know you knew how to yodel.”

  10. Winston says:

#1 – “Wonder what ever happened to Robin? I think Adam West is still around.”

West is still around as is Burt Ward (Robin). Looked them up on good old Wikipedia where I found that they both have web sites, Burt’s site capitalizing entirely on his role in the Batman series.

Actually, I now prefer Adam West’s current role in Family Guy to his role in the old Batman series.

  11. ECA says:

    HOLEY CHEESE, Pun intended..

  12. Homer Simpian says:

Funny, but they left out my favorite “Holy uncanny photographic mental processes!”

    http://adamwest.tripod.com/robin.htm

  13. @ECA…I guess Swiss cheese is better than “Holy Guacamole!”

  14. Dallas says:

    #6 #10 – thanks.
Also, the gay thing was just a joke given their outfits. 🙂

  15. LOWER CASE SCREEN NAME says:

#1 – Burt Ward wrote a book “Boy-Wonder-My-Life-Tights” I’ve been meaning to read some day.

According to him a lot of women wanted to eat some Robin back in the day.

  16. amodedoma says:

Hmmn, the sixties, ya had to be there to even come anywhere close to understanding it. To go from the carbon copy conformity values of the 50’s, to the burnout hippie acid values of the 70’s. The B&R TV show was a effort to maintain the kids of the 60’s with values of the 50’s. Obviously it didn’t work, kids don’t take their values from cartoons, I don’t care how many or much. Personally I liked the green hornet better. Kato was the bomb! That’s why it failed, having a chinese actor as a hero on a popular TV show was bad for the war effort, everybody with oriental traits was to be referred to as a gook. Like I said, ya had to be there.

  17. amodedoma says:

WTF am I babbling about, I better take my meds now.

  18. Greg Allen says:

    Holy Batgirl!

Wow, Yvonne Craig is so fantastic looking that I can almost get past the homoeroticism of that show.

BTW, what kind of person has the time and desire to go through that many old Batman episodes and find all those clips?

  19. Dallas says:

#14 Nope. Contrary to old wives tales, gays don’t ‘become’ gay through any external inspiration. This is especially true in villages where you were hatched from.

And yes, your as close to an old wife as they come.

  20. dcphill says:

    Holy moley

  21. Michael_GR says:

#17, I wasn’t aeven a glimmer in my parent’s eyes when B&R was origianlly on the air, but I have to sak: what on earth are you talkng about? 50’s values in B&R? huh? It was a comedy for chrissake, and there were certainly no values, 50’s or otherwise, involved. Well, there was the odd moralizing by batman but it was played for laughs.

  22. BobHand says:

    Batman, Holy Bitchslap him, please!

  23. ECA says:

    HOLY Gorgonzola..
    (holy cheese) pun intended.

  24. Rabble Rouser says:

    Holy Guacamole!

  25. Jopa says:

    I can’t believe I liked this crap when I was a kid…. O_o

  26. CrankyGeeksFan says:

Holy Fourth Amendment, anagrams, Luther Burbank and non-sequiturs.

This was for kids? A majority of adults couldn’t correctly identify these terms.

Children saw the comic books sprung to life, teenagers saw the humor in the campiness and adults saw the “bad” influences.

#19 – Someone from a YouTube-type community of very devout fans to answer your question. The creators probably know the location of these lines without having to give it much thought.

Supposedly in the late 1990s, someone who had made considerable wealth in Information Technology made a model of the Batcave in his house. It had many of the old displays and panels as shown here and on shows like Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.
