A Pennsylvania Walmart Supercenter videotaped employees and customers in a unisex bathroom, several former and current Walmart employees alleged in a lawsuit filed this week. Seven former and current employees from the Tire and Lube department at the Walmart in Easton, Pa., filed a lawsuit in county court against the Arkansas-based corporation and four local managers Dec. 21.
Several employees discovered an “off-the-shelf” video camera in a store bathroom March 31, 2008, according to the court filing. The unisex bathroom, which also served as a changing room, was used by employees and customers. Customers and employees were not notifed of the surveillance, according to the court filing.
“I am incredulous that anyone would think that it’s appropriate conduct for any reason to photograph people in a changing room and bathroom,” said Erv McLain, the plaintiffs’ attorney. The company declined further comment.
Why anyone would patronize this Anti-American cesspool just baffles me. Oh, I forgot, cheap crap made from slave labor in China…… great.
Phydeau, don’t let facts get in the way. Try some work by Bork or Frank Fisher. Predatory pricing to drive out competitors followed by monopoly pricing is good in theory, but in reality, companies don’t get a return on their investment.
I work at Wally World. These managers were pulling their own monkey business and made all of Wal-Mart look bad in the process. Some of these jokers do stuff like this not realizing (or caring) that they represent THE BIGGEST RETAILER ON THE PLANET.
too bad those cameras dont work on the consumer’s end. i had a walmart employee cash my paycheck and pretty much put some of it in her pocket. after i caught it, walmart refused to show me the vidoe tape. in fact the first mgr claimed to have walked to video room found a 4 day old video, time and date correct, watch it and walk back to front of store in 3 min. flat, only to tell me that she saw me put something in my wallet on my way out the door. nothing over the register where the incident took place. walmart has superwoman or flash working for them. i then had another mgr claim to watch it only to get same results. then 3 hrs later yet another mgr called me and asked about the exact time so that he could actually go over the video. and of course tell me that no one can view the videos because it is private property. and lawyers cannot subpeona them either only cops. so good luck all i hope nothing crazy happens to you at walmart where you think you are protected by these videos
How low can this company from hell go? I hope wal-mart gets sued big time! This comes to no surprise to me. Mor does anything else they do. I feal sorry anybody has to work them!
