Bill?
From my sysop, Marc Perkel’s blog
Lieberman Site Still Down
Joe Lieberman’s web site that he claimed was hacked by Lamont is still down today. When you go to his web page at http://joe2006.com it redirects you here:
http://server1.myhostcamp.com/suspended.page/
Notice the URL is called “suspended.page” which implies that this is not a hacked site, it’s a suspended page. That supports the theory that Lieberman got suspended for not paying his bill. So if he called the cops and the FBI in over this he filed a false police report. We need to call the bastard on this lie.
Also – this site is on a shared server with hundreds of other sites. All the other sites are still online. So there’s no server damage or denial of service attack. So – think about it – all the other sites are up and Lieberman’s site is redirected to a “suspended” page. And – after 40 hours it’s still not back up? What does that tell you?
Personally I suspect he doesn’t really know how to pay the bill.
I don’t think it’s because he didn’t pay his bill, but that he simply exceeding his meager bandwidth for the month. I read somewhere that it was only 10GB, and for the amount of national press his campaign got, it likely exceeded that in no time.
The lesson here is if you’re going to run a senatorial campaign, you might want to shell out more than $15 per month on a hosting plan.
“We need to call the bastard on this lie.” – Yeah… let’s unilaterally believe a story that’s written like this.
Its the tubes, man, the tubes, they be blocked!!!
Hey, I was downloading the internet last night, including the Leiberman site, and I forgot to put it back. Sorry Joe.
4 separate T V news channels (CBS, NBC, FOX, ABC) in New York area separately reported that they have checked (all of them used word “researched”) “unpaid balance” or and other common explanations for this outage and found out that such allegations are not correct… If it was only one station, I’d be suspicious, but all 4 major news stations… He got hacked in a novel way. It would be interesting to find how exactly.
This man needs to be re-elected and get back on the committee with Sen. (Tubes) Stevens. He is just the man to fix these criminalities and irregularites.
Sen. Stevens will work on unplugging the tubes.(Bigger Tubes!)
This is obviously a very unbiased article thanks for the non-partisanship and balanced blogging John.
Look at the whiners pretending to be geeks. What’s biased about declaring a DDOS unlikely? Perkel would know better than 99% of those who wander through here.
And, John, you probably are right about Joe not knowing how to pay a bill. It’s always his secretary or his wife. It’s like Bush 1 not knowing how to check out at a supermarket.
Way to examine the tech angle, Mr. Tech Writer. I’m sure it wasn’t bandwidth overage, possibly due to a brute-force loading of the site or a small DOS, or just simply election-day traffic.
You and your sysop need to think about how you couldn’t find the TECH angle on this.
#8 read #2 and I think youll see the bias.
What the egotistical idiot needs to be called on is running as an independent and dividing the ticket. He had three terms, his constitutes spoke, now move on.
Hey, all I did was cut and paste what Marc posted. Should I edit it instead? Put words in his mouth? Phony it up? Or whould you get the full cloth and decide for yourself? Cripes.Like I care about the vitriol. I just think it’s funny.
Probably their server jusrt got overloaded. Fire the tech support guys.
Democrats, untie your tubes.
James Hill,
We would, but the president vetoed our options! Boo ya!
The first thought to cross my mind was “the tubes, man, it’s the freaking tubes!”, but somebody beat me to it.
