Copenhagen Mayor Ritt Bjerregaard sent postcards to city hotels warning summit guests not to patronize Danish sex workers during the upcoming conference. Now, the prostitutes have struck back, offering free sex to anyone who produces one of the warnings.

Now, Copenhagen prostitutes are up in arms, saying that the council has no business meddling in their affairs. They have now offered free sex to anyone who can produce one of the offending postcards and their COP15 identity card, according to the Web site avisen.dk.

Gore must be happy.

That’s very generous and thoughtful! Good for summit attendees.

Liberals know how to enact change and they should have fun at the same time.

The “Pro-Fuck the environment” summit attendees only got copies of the Sears Catalog bra section. HAHA

“…the council has no business meddling in their affairs.”

    Ya gotta love it.

But the prostitutes should just do the regular carwashes for disabled children when they want to change attitudes about their rape-for-cash occupation.

  9. RBG says:

Right. The difference between rape and business is the price, right?

  12. The Monster's Lawyer says:

#9 RGB – I don’t know what your trying to say. Here are the definitions of both ‘rape’ and ‘business’:

    rape
    –noun
    1. the unlawful compelling of a woman through physical force or duress to have sexual intercourse.
    2. any act of sexual intercourse that is forced upon a person.
    3. statutory rape.
    4. an act of plunder, violent seizure, or abuse; despoliation; violation: the rape of the countryside.
    5. Archaic. the act of seizing and carrying off by force

    ———————————————-
    busi⋅ness
    –noun
    1. an occupation, profession, or trade: His business is poultry farming.
    2. the purchase and sale of goods in an attempt to make a profit.
    3. a person, partnership, or corporation engaged in commerce, manufacturing, or a service; profit-seeking enterprise or concern.

  13. RBG says:

    12 Monster’s Lawyer.

I’m sure you have no idea what I’m talking about.

But if it helps, you need to review #2 of your definition for rape. In this case, the johns use money and desperation to force themselves on the women. Otherwise these women wouldn’t have the slightest interest in these men.

Then add in a bit from #4 on abuse and violation.

“Unlawful compelling”? As opposed to “lawful compelling,” I take it. So a man can be legally blind but still see. A woman can be legally a man but still in fact remain biologically a woman. Clearly what is lawful is arbitrary. Similarly let’s simply make racism legal and then there would be no racism.

To change that which is lawful you first have to state what is right. Prostitution is rape. We’re just haggling about the price.

Does that mean that if a woman marries for money she is being raped?

  17. RBG says:

14 ML. Yeah, what’s just can be a real bother for some.

15 Improbus. Sounds like it’s more like the guy being raped. “Marries” and “sex” are not the same thing. Check it out. In some cases they’re mutually exclusive.

Wow that sounds very much like the description of most government cubicle jobs. Just substitute “meaningless mind-numbing menial labor” for “sex”.

  22. TheMAXX says:

RBG you assume an awful lot in your sweeping generalization. If an individual who has a choice in how they make money and who they accept money from is to be called “rape, just haggling about the price” then 98% of the people working are “raped, just haggling about the extent ones body and mind has to be used for it to be rape”. If you can call something rape even if it is consensual because there are degrees of consent then I can call working any job for a wage rape because there are degrees of body and mind violation.

    -Karl

  23. TheMAXX says:

    RBG,
    1. What is just is letting people choose for themselves. People in Denmark certainly are not forced to do anything. They will get money for housing, for food and clothing, education and help in finding work without doing anything other than being a registered citizen. It might be hard for you to believe someone might like sex but lots of people really love it. Maybe you should give it another chance.

    2. Rape is not a matter of haggling over the price. Sex is either consensual or not. There might be many reasons why someone will let another person have sex with them or not and that is up to each individual to choose. Otherwise you could call all sex rape since that woman wouldn’t have had sex with that guy if he wasn’t so good looking, so nice, so smart, said the right thing, had a nice ride, etc. Why is the influence of money on someone’s attitude different that any other influence? It still has to be up to each individual what they let influence them in making their own decisions. That is the only way to have real justice.

    3. You talk about being just but you still insist on judging others without knowing the truth. The truth being different in every situation in every second of every day. Generalizations about people and being just do not go together.
