1. Sister Mary Hand Grenade of Quiet Reflection says:

If a hot rod doesn’t make noise, that immediately makes it totally limp.

  2. Improbus says:

Nice! Can I get mine in stealth paint?

  3. hhopper says:

But 0-60 in three seconds makes it totally stiff!

  4. brian t says:

Oh, these things make noise, all right – when the tires aren’t squealing, they sound something like an 800-pound hornet. Look for some NEDRA videos – National Electric Drag Racing Assoc.

  5. Improbus says:

    @ SMH of QR

    There’s an app for that!

  6. alienbike says:

I’ll take one in black! I’ve always wanted a ’33 Ford with suicide doors.

  7. Special Ed says:

They should have put in a Tesla coil or bug zapper. You’re right Hop – 0 to 60 in 3 seconds is smoking.

  8. deowll says:

A range of 100 miles? Fifty miles out and fifty back or 100 one way?

You can buy the one they were going to make for me.

  9. The Monster's Lawyer says:

    What’s the grill for?

[To keep the batteries cool on burn-outs! – ed.]

  10. wbskeet37 says:

The Monster’s Lawyer, I don’t want to accuse you of not watching the video. But they did say that the engine was water cooled and one of the reverse shots of the engine did show a radiator behind the grill.

  11. The Monster's Lawyer says:

    #10 WebSkeeter –
You’re right. I did not watch the video. I stand informed. Thanks!

  12. MPGomatic says:

Thanks for picking up my clip! The issue of range can be solved with more batteries (which, of course, will require more cash). The lack of noise will be solved by an under-car audio system with dual rumbling subs. In the future, your electric hot rod will sound like any damn thing you like … lumpy cam big block, land speeder, angry bee from hell … you name it …
