This PSA is meant to be satire or commentary (or is it?) on where London is heading with it’s multiple cameras on every street and where the former East Germany was. And were we could eventually go if we aren’t vigilant.

we have gotten out of the habit of HELPING others..
we have gotten out of the habit of KNOWING our neighbors..
KNOWING, the types of people they are, and IF’ something strange or different is happening, and being WILLING to go over and ASK if something is wrong.
RATHER to get a COP to knock on the door, and decide IF’ they need to arrest someone..
But these are COPS, not peace officers. THEY dont decide GOOD or bad, they ARREST you and let the JUDGE decide..
Making this sound LIKE an add to discover TERRORISM, makes it EASY to digest..and then we call because there’s to much noise, or they are playing in the front yard, EVEN walking down the street..
Yes, I have seen Neighborhoods where the COPS are called IF’ they see anyone walking down the street..Funny?? it isnt when it WAS your next door neighbor..THEn the cops arrest you..THEY dont care, its not for them to decide..
recently we have had 2 cases like this..1 on a campus when the professor came home from out of town and had lost his keys, and the SECURITY didnt KNOW their OWN professors.
another case of a Pre-adolescent walking a few blocks to a Ball game, and his father soon to follow..
I guess if the police arrest the wrong guy, they can all have a beer with the President later. It’s all good.
London? NYC just got funds and legislation for at least 3000 new HD cameras to watch us. Why HD? So that they can read and match and follow license plates and …. read and match and follow facial features. Every media outlet (from MSNBC to FOX) covered this news with unicorns and flowers and good excitement. Not one descent. We are far away on the path to 1984.
The extremely shallow depth of field is very odd. Not even their whole face is in focus.

This PSA just goes to prove that not everyone in LA is beautiful. They were definitely going for a diverse group of people in this advertisement, but they seemed to leave out the other 75% of americans who are not anywhere near that ugly. Or are they just targeting the ugly people because they have no social life, hence they have the time to spy on their neighbors.

This is something that always has happened in Switzerland where I live. I even remember that once my cousin asked a nearby café if he could borrow a chair, the café accepted, but a few minutes later the police came because someone saw him take the chair and though he was stealing it.

I overheard my neighbor loudly complaining about President Obama yesterday. I think he even went to one of those tea party events. My bet is he is up to something no good. Glad we have this kind of service so I can contribute to the safety of my neighborhood and my nation.

I dont mind that POLICE(not COPS) need to know whats happening in a town or city. that they NEED to know who and WHAT SOME persons are doing.
I understand that LESS then 20% of all crime is ever solved.(its hard to PROVE repeat offenders and what they HAVE done without PROOF/mostly THEFT)
I understand that CSI on TV is about 10,000 TIMES more TECH/more everything THEN reality..
I would LIKE to see more NEIGHBORHOOD policing, rather then some person that is SHIPPED to this area and has NO KNOWLEDGE of what is going on, HERE.
And on the other end of the “for your own good” spectrum, we have Great Britain. Ugh. All cameras that watch you for a violation are wrong. We shouldn’t have them in the U.S. either. Not even for red light violations. It’s not like we had problems catching light runners or speeders before cameras. And it’s entirely possible these cameras could be hacked and video faked on them. I bet it’s happened already.
I’m not a ludite but there is a streak of libertarian in me that squirms at being fined for not wearing a seat belt. It’s my own business is I’m killing myself. And with the camera’s since there was no problem before, get rid of them and things will still be okay.
The PSA is kind of scary. I don’t like stoplight cameras, let alone surveillance cameras on every corner or neighbors watching neighbors.
Since the picture of Number 6 was shown, I guess we could say London has become “The Village.” “I am not a number, I am a free man!”

The problem we have is that COPS need to be PARANOID, just to keep themselves SAFE.
What I would SAY, is that killing/shooting a COP for NO reason should put you inline with the DEATH sentence..
