After reports yesterday about an ad for AC: 360 that apparently had a woman touting the merits of the show while describing herself as a “lifelong Democrat,” we picked up the story as an apparent shift in strategy for CNN.
CNN tells us the promo had audio dubbed in stereo, rather than a mono track. The spot has been remixed and is now more clear.
So what does the ad really say? Well for a 30 second spot, it’s actually rather complicated. A woman’s voice and a man’s voice are speaking simultaneously throughout much of the ad. While the woman says, “I’m a lifelong Democrat,” a man is saying, “I’m a lifelong Republican.” As it continues, there is more overlapping audio. She says, “The issue that matters most to me is the economy,” while he is saying, “The issue that matters most to me is national security.”

AC:180 is more like it.
The Borg are apparently a big CNN demographic.
I don’t think they screwed up the audio. I think they meant it to come out that way. Interesting idea, poor execution, leaving the listener more confused than anything. But what does this have to do with left wing bias? Sure, CNN is biased left. This is not news.
As far as war mongering is concerned, Fox, CNN, MSNBC all agree. Left or right, the newsmedia is reading from the same script regarding the “threat” Iran is. Newsflash! Iran isn’t a threat.
From CNN during the liberation of Kuwait. Those CNN reporters were so brave, facing imminent threat from Saddam’s missile attacks. Wait, wut? Sound Stage?

So the story here is that there is no story? Great post.
Reinforcing that there are only two choices.
Nothing to see here…
I have a hard time believing any major news agency is left leaning. They all seem to sniff the white house’s butt, just to varying degrees.
Fox news isn’t the exception either, it sniffs the white house’s butt when there’s a republican there, and sniffs rush limbaugh’s butt when there’s a democrat in office.
People keep after me to get cable again. And I keep seeing network blunders like these as good reasons NOT to. If I’m gonna be lied to by the mainstream media. Why on earth should I help them, by paying for it? I can be lied to by free broadcast Tv, and not have to pay a cent for it. Plus, if they lie too much, they could lose their viewer ratings. So they’re more cautious about lying. But cable networks have a captive audience, who have already paid in advance to be lied to. Some with multi year subscription contracts. And the cable networks probably think that lying more, makes them more entertaining than being truthful, which is boring.
The audio tracks are still rather accurate.
Note the republican lives in fear and the democrat concerned about the economy.
I guess this is an effort to marginalize the liberal and moderate Democrats. They are trying to polarize the debate like they did with abortion.
It will backfire big time when the first Muslim bomb goes off in this country.
#17 Let me see. It looks like you just built your own fantasy world with your usual diatribe.
Note we’re not laughing with you, we’re laughing at you.
I was merely stating a simple fact with the audio – the republican lives in fear and the democrat was concerned about the economy. Why do the facts disturb you?
I’ve concluded the length of your lathered diatribe is directly proportional to facts that undermine your bizarre views.
I use this same technique when I create hypnosis recordings.
#20 I hope the Republican Party does return and pursue they conservative economic principles they were founded on. I will likely go back.
However, the party is manipulated by the American Religious Taliban (ART).
Like a mortal bacteria that infects the host, ART is now the party itself. I’m afraid in order to restore the GOP to the greatness is was in the William F Buckley days, a fatal blow must be given to the GOP and kill the alien bacteria.
That is my mission – to kill the alien bacteria even at the expense of killing the helpless host.
