John,
I suspect that the sensitivity and quality of the CCD array in a NASA telescope is amazingly better than the CCD array in a consumer camera. So I don’t think that your metric comparing CCD, film, and human eye is valid for shutting up film camera fan boys.
Not that I’m a film user, or defending them. You are just comparing apples to oranges.
Bing is MSN search with pretty background pictures. PLUS I never found what I was looking for by using it.
The authors of that list must have been fans of Vaudeville humor, specifically a joke I last heard on the TV show “The Nanny:”
NANNY FRAN: “That restaurant has really gone downhill — that food was terrible!”
THE NANNY’S MOTHER: ” Yes, and such small portions!”
If I remember correctly John predicted that Bing’s market share would shrink and Google’s would grow on several Cranky Geeks shows. Give that boy a lollipop.
Bing just sucks as a search engine compared to Google.
Google is fast, loads quick and gives good search results.
Bing is fancy Web 2.0 designed for style over substance.
The people that use bing are the nominally computer literate types that stick with their default browser, etc.
For the people who actually make a decision on what search engine to use, Google tends to be their choice.
