All primary school-age children in New York City will be offered free vaccines for seasonal and H1N1 flu this year under a plan announced on Tuesday by Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

The vaccines are part of the city’s strategy to combat the new H1N1 swine flu strain that hit the city hard during the spring, infecting an estimated 750,000 to 1 million people or about 10 percent of the population.

Here, kid, take two-to-the-arm and I’ll give you this candy…

Good. Just the old poor people will die an agonizing death.

  2. Grayven says:

Seems like a rational strategy: Spend a few bucks to keep a future worker drone alive and able to work. Unless you think they’re trying to kill us all. (I wonder who they’ll give the crap jobs to after they kill us all?)

  3. noname says:

    # 3 Grayven,

    Unemployment is high right now.

Unemployed people likely don’t have health insurance.

So if unemployed or retired people croak, it’s capitalism at it’s finest.

Jack Welch (of GE fame) called for an Corporate Culling every year, Fire 10% of the workforce, each year?

There are just so many benefits to letting H1N1 flu do it’s job.
1.) Undoubtedly the Government will collect more “death” taxes.
2.) The rush hour is just to crowded now as it is. Will help with the carbon foot print also, assuming cremation is not allowed.
3.) Our population is just exploding, we need to curb it naturally.
4.) Less people competing for the ever shrinking job base, as corporations move jobs over seas.
5.) It will strengthen the gene pool.
    6.) Lower health care cost!!!!!!
7.) Less demand on existing resources, drives prices down.
8.) The few remaining living will have improved stature and be a valued employee at work.

  6. noname says:

    # 6 Jeanne,

Yeah, it’s fun to ignore the obvious truths, as long as the consequences don’t catch you.

    Reality bites.

  7. deowll says:

I’ll try not to be a cynic. This may be as much as is needed. Please note I’m not sure the 10% that have already had the flu need a shot.

  8. meathead says:

I live in Manhattan. I haven’t met anyone or even talked to anyone who knows anyone that’s had H1N1. I have to question the credibility of that 10% number.

  9. Sean says:

It seems that fears over the new swine flu vaccine are continuing to rise as we get closer to the beginning of the swine flu vaccination programme. Would you have a swine flu vaccine if offered?
You can vote here Swine Flu Vaccine

The sarcasm tags in my previous post did not show up.
