Voter Registrations Possibly Trashed

(Oct. 12) — Employees of a private voter registration company allege that hundreds, perhaps thousands of voters who may think they are registered will be rudely surprised on election day. The company claims hundreds of registration forms were thrown in the trash.

Anyone who has recently registered or re-registered to vote outside a mall or grocery store or even government building may be affected.

The I-Team has obtained information about an alleged widespread pattern of potential registration fraud aimed at democrats. Thee focus of the story is a private registration company called Voters Outreach of America, AKA America Votes.

The out-of-state firm has been in Las Vegas for the past few months, registering voters. It employed up to 300 part-time workers and collected hundreds of registrations per day, but former employees of the company say that Voters Outreach of America only wanted Republican registrations.

Two former workers say they personally witnessed company supervisors rip up and trash registration forms signed by Democrats.

What? Are we suddenly in Burundi? This, if true, is serious.

What this really does is begs the question regarding the validity of “no electronics in use during take-off, and only use of approved electronics during flight”.

Whatever the truth, this much I believe: Political factions have been positioning themselves for months to contest the next election if things don’t go well [for them].

People have always been and ever will be disenfranchised to some extent in any election. But it sounds cool to react in disbelief when we spot such a case, as if we always thought that such things could not happen in America. After all, we only slaughtered an entire Indian civilization, enslaved a race, and interned Japanese-Americans– it must come as quite a shock that we would disenfranchise anyone.

As far as how the next election will likely be contested, look at the balloting system. The strategem: Complain that electronic ballots should have been in place for the 2000 election, then when states comply, complain that electronic ballots are not verifiable. If you lose the election, contest it on the basis of the machines which you asked for.

The Democrats are most likely to resort to this tactic in the case of an election loss, but I am not convinced that the Republicans may not also have similar plans. Neither party gets any stars for integrity.

One of my favorite things about a blog is how one can stray from the immediate subject and there’s not a damn thing anybody can do about it– except for the blog owner himself– who mercifully seldom gives a shit anyway. 🙂

Just goes to show … register to vote at a government office. Who knows what the door to door people are going to do with the information, as this story tells us, you might not even get registered to vote.

Even worse — those applications usually have enough information for identity theft.
