Republican U.S. Rep. Marilyn Musgrave‘s re-election campaign was already heated, and it just got smelly as well: Her staff accused a Democratic activist Thursday of leaving an envelope full of dog feces at Musgrave’s Greeley office.

Musgrave spokeswoman Shaun Kenney said someone stuffed the envelope through the mail slot in the door on May 31 and then sped away in a car. Kenney said most of the preprinted return address was blacked out, but staffers used the nine-digit ZIP code to trace it to Kathleen Ensz, a Weld County Democratic volunteer.

Ensz told The Associated Press she left the envelope at Musgrave’s office but said it “wasn’t in the office doors, it was in the foyer.” Asked what she meant by the act, she declined comment.

Kenney demanded an apology from Musgrave’s likely Democratic opponent, state Rep. Angela Paccione of Fort Collins.

Paccione spokesman James Thompson denied the campaign had anything to do with it.

So many questions about such an important story…. Why would someone include their nine-digit zip on a package containing such a thing? Doesn’t something stink about this?

Stories great, but that dog cleaning up after himself is………..well………amazing!!

  2. American Soldier says:

Typical Democrats….shoveling it and leaving it for others to clean up.

  3. AB CD says:

Too cheap to use a new envelope?

  4. Mike Voice says:

    Warning: sarcasm ahead…

Typical of the “Vast Right-wing Conspiracy”… have a Republican volunteer to work for the Democrat, and then have the “mole” do something which will embarrass the Democrat…

Reminds me of the last election, when Republicans were supporting Ralph Nader’s attempt to get on the ballot…

Do we wish they would sling mud instead?

  6. Vince says:

I don’t see how stuffing dog feces through a Republican’s mail slot automatically makes the person a Democrat.

For example in Canada, just because some extremist wanted to behead Prime Minister Harper doesn’t make them a Liberal.

    Great picture!

MIke Voice, you read my mind. Your scenario is what kept running through my mind when I posted my comments. The fact that the same thing popped into someone else’s mind is enough to convince me that it must be true. 🙂

If I had been there they could have melted me over the dog poo. Then it would have been nice and shiny!

I’m pleasantly surprised. Politics seems to be getting more efficient. Normally we don’t reach this depth of intellectual engagement until September or October. Maybe we can start thinking about shortening the political season a bit.

Something on your level? What ever turns you on.

That was NOT dog poop. That was a group of constituents. You know, the people who are treated and treaded on like dung.
