Third-graders’ sex talk leads to three suspensions

Three Heritage Elementary School third-graders were suspended from school for a day last week for talking about oral sex, a Bibb County school official said Tuesday.

Two girls and one boy were suspended, said Mike Van Wyck, the system’s assistant superintendent for student support services.

“They were sitting around in class in a circle and the three got to talking about oral sex,” Van Wyck said. He said he did not know details about the conversation.

Either a teacher or another student overheard the students and reported it, he said.

School officials investigated, and the school administration thought there was cause for discipline.

“The concern is to help the students learn from this situation. The parents have been talked to and the students,” Van Wyck said. “It’s not appropriate.”

The school’s principal, Kaye Hlavaty, declined to comment Tuesday.

Van Wyck said last week’s case was isolated and there have not been prior problems with “young kids dealing with sexual matters.”

Children are human beings and therefore sexual beings. It’s hard for parents to acknowledge this, just as it’s hard for children to think of their parents as sexually active. But even infants have curiosity about their own bodies, which is healthy and normal.
Children 3 to 6 years of age are most likely to play “doctor.” Many parents overreact when they witness or hear of such behavior. Heavy-handed scolding is NOT the way to deal with the situation. Nor should parents feel this is promiscuous behavior or will lead to promiscuity.

Looks like american youths are being trained for the new ways of the future, where people will be labeled according to who they talk to or what they talk about. Soon enough they´ll learn that it´s OK for the goverment to supervise affiliations, phone call records or internet usage… ooops look like you´re already there.

  3. Anon says:

This will give them plenty of free time to, you know, have sex.

  4. Mr. H. Fusion says:

I’m just sitting here shaking my head. Where is the outrage from the parents?

  5. Max says:

Ha – reminds me of “Brave New World” where school kids are encouraged to have sex at school… Huxley was truely a man before his time…

Next comes the incubator plants and retreats to “savage” reservations…

  6. V says:

So instead of trying to shape their ideas about oral sex we punish them so that they’ll remember next time to only talk about it in secret. They’ll then go on through the next few years, start doing it in secret, then acquire oral herpes and accidentally pass it on by sharing a water bottle.

Meanwhile, the sex ed teacher keeps standing there demanding that they stay celibate.

  7. Improbus says:

Is it now required that school administrators be retarded to be employed? It sure seems so. Those who can do. Those who can’t , teach. Those who can’t teach, teach gym. Those that can’t even teach gym run the school.

  8. Mr. H. Fusion says:

#7, well put. I like that philosophy because it is so apt.

  9. Chris says:

Ohhh… Hearsay. That’s a step in the right direction.

Transcript of the actual conversation (as recounted by Billy)…

(Becky) “Sally what’s wrong? You look sick or something.”
(Sally) “I don’t want to talk about it. It’s too yucky.”
    (Billy) Huh? What’s yucky?
(Becky) You can tell me Sally. I won’t tell anyone.
    (Billy) I won’t tell either.
(Sally) “Well… I had to go real bad and I couldn’t hold it, so I snuck into the teacher’s washroom. And… well…when I was finished I heard the door open and I was so scared. So I peeked through the crack where the door closes for the toilet and I saw Mr. (name withheld). He was in the womens washroom! And then he said “Sally?”. I nearly died.
    (Becky) (gasp) Oh no!
(Sally) Yup. But I stayed real quiet, and then then Mrs. (name withheld)
came in, and Mr. xxx said “Oh Sally” and then they kissed.
    (Billy) Eeew. Yuuuck.
(Becky) And then Mrs. xxx locked the door. And then she like pulls down his pants and he just stood there! And then…

  11. Angel H. Wong says:

Down here 4th graders already have sex.

And the big irony is that the rumours link towards a large catholic school XD (which is where I spend my childhood LMAO)

  12. Gary Marks says:

They shouldn’t get off with a mere one-day suspension. This is what the concept of “permanent record” was supposed to be for. And when they move to the next grade or another school, they should have to register as pre-sex offenders. These kids should also have their mouths washed out with soap!

Why doesn’t Ivory make a special “Dirty Word Oral Soap”?

  13. ECA says:

    LORD love a duck.
This is going to stagnate this world WORSe then before Kinsey.
This country is going to far Puritan..
Thought this country was for EVERY one, and not those that think INSIDE the box. A VERY DARK BOX.
