This was Heath Ledger’s last film. Because he died before it was finished, Gilliam came up with a clever, story-consistent way of using three other actors in the role of Tony for the rest of the film.

Well between this and his performance as the Joker he just may have redeemed himself for that Brokeback Mtn crap.
I Love Terry… the yank python.
He had too short a life. His films from “Casanova”, “The Patriot”, “The Dark Knight”, “A Knight’s Tale”, “Monster’s Ball”, “Lords of Dogtown” and “Brokeback Mountain” all quite good.
He’s sadly missed.
#1 Yeah. Playing a gay man really makes him a crap actor…
\sarcasm
What a genius
What a tragic life
To die a drug overdose when he could of contributed so much to life
Reminds me in a way of jacko
#2 – joaoPT – the yank python.
Ex-yank. Gotta love his Python intros.
The sad thing is that Heath’s death probably will do more to help this film make money. I fear this movie would have tanked had he been still alive as it’s too weird for most movie goers. I am not saying it’s a bad movie but just not the type that sells tons of tickets. But we shall see..
# 7 So was Lord of the Rings. Time will tell.
I’m looking forward to seeing this.
The voices in the clip are a little drowned out for me to make out clearly. What was the part about “any child…age of…belong to him”?
Did anyone catch what the “price” was for immortality?
Not a fan of Ledger’s Joker. Not as bad as Nicholson’s performance. The writing was largely to blame of course. There is little any actor can do with trite material. Even Bale suffered in that for The Dark Knight.
As for Gilliam, he is very hit and miss. Fisher King, Twelve Monkeys, Time Bandits & Brazil hit.
Munchausen, Brothers Grimm & Fear and Loathing, not so much. So we’ll have to see if this is a Grimm or a Brazil.

Can’t wait for this.
I feared another Terry Gilliam Bad Luck event when Ledger died (just watch Lost in LaMancha) but hopefully this movie will be saved from the Gilliam Curse. As far as trailers go it looks promising.

Finally, I’ve found someone who thinks the same way.
And what’s this about him dying while making another movie? I thought he died because the Joker’s persona was too much for him?
♯1
Oh please, I bet your one of those who hates anything to do with Brokeback because your in the closet.
#13: Some writer’s overindulgence in tragedy to sell his story. No, they were well into editing Dark Night and Ledger was nearly done working on this film when he died. It was more a matter of his being exhausted from working too much, having had a cold, possibly pneumonia, and taking pills to try to sleep.
#13
Myself I feel the best performances of both Bats and The Joker are from Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamil.
The scene from Mask of The Phantasm when the Joker interacts with Abe Vigoda’s mob character is great writing and spot on psychotic portrayal. Although Lucas could not write well enough to bring out Hamill (but then no can call Lucas a writing genius), Alan Burnett could.
As I said before no actor, even great ones like Fonda, Burton and the like, can overcome badly written crud. A bad script kills everything.

Looks like a trippy movie, may have to start smoking weed again and go give it a looksee.
What? It has people wearing those creepy masks like the ones from the orgies in Eyes Wide Shut?
I’m there.
I thought Ledger did an incredible job of playing the Joker. He couldn’t have been any more creepy.
