The Sun Online – News: Mick beats George to suite — Amusing lack of respect. So there was a Summit meeting?
PRESIDENT George Bush can’t get no satisfaction — after Mick Jagger grabbed his hotel room.
The Rolling Stone splashed out £3,600 a night for the suite days before the US leader tried to book it.
Now Mick, 62, who has been a fierce critic of the Bush-led war in Iraq, is refusing to give it up.
The veteran rocker hired the luxury Royal Suite at the five-star Imperial Hotel in Vienna, Austria, for June when the Stones are due to play a gig in the city.

Why is this at all interesting? Jagger already booked so automatically the president can’t get in, this has nothing to do with Jagger’s stance on the president.
It does make a statement when Sir Mick is being asked to give it up for the President of the U.S. to attend a summit, and refuses. Especially since I know that hotels will cancel reservations if they get a better offer – happens all the time.
Yeah, why is this news? Talk about an inflammatory entry for the sake of being inflammatory.
Nobody cares….just more Bush Bashing. Thank God Bush got re-elected, it gave the loonie left something to do for four years.
Some people hold that out of respect for the office, not the man, special consideration should be afforded. The SS wanted to book the entire floor for security. Mick may have saved the tax payers a few dollars. There’s a secure custom luxury 747, much nicer than most Americans homes, already at the airport. Let him sleep there.
Hey, you, get off of my cloud – er, out of my room.
I think the “noteworthy” thing is the fact that it IS made into news…
Re #5: Do you remember Clinton catching heat for received a $200 haircut on Air Force One, shutting down two runways at LAX in June of 1993? As long as the President is aboard Air Force One, the airport must remain closed to air traffic. Yes, I know it’s only an FAA rule and this is a trip to Austria. The international diplomatic regulations are even tighter then our FAA regulations since September the 11th.
Feel free to Google the incident, you’ll find around forty leftwing blogs proclaiming it, “didn’t happen” there are hundreds of reliable sources to the contrary.
Maybe Mick could write a song about this, maybe call it You can’t Always Get what You Want.
I bet mick now makes the “no fly” list.
I agree let the Cheater sleep on Haliburton’s Plane, Oh I mean our , I mean, wait who actually owns the plane I think it was traded in one of Bush Sr’s Dealings with um, those guys – Saudies (sp?)
#2…diane….lol….I’m betting neither of these guys are on a Parrillo discount vacation, so raising the rate may not have been an option.
What does surprisem me is that plans for things like this are usually laid in as much as a yeear in advance…..I wonder when they both dcided to book?
Did no one notice the “£3,600 a night” price tag for this room? That’s over $6,400 a night! All coming out of the American’s pocket! I’m sorry, I have a huge problem with this. Why does the President of the USA need to have a $6,400 a night room? Can’t he stay in a $1,000 a night room, or heaven forbid, a $100 a night room?
Cripes, it’s no wonder our national debt is so high!
