I keep my HP running all night to crunch Folding@Home data; you all should (whether you have an HP or not), too:

  2. Opera 10 is very fast.

  3. Jim says:

We leave the machines on at night to do network backups. Because, you know, people don’t like their machines being slow in the middle of a workday.

    They’re funny like that.

I’ve been meaning to ask, John:

Is that as opposed to the greatest dead person walking the Earth today?

  5. Bryan P. Carney says:

Regarding Opera; yes, it is fast but it seems to lag in a barely perceptible manner compared to IE 64 bit on a WIN 7 machine with DDR 3 ram. As a long-time Opera user, this is insignificant trivia. The way I use the internet has been shaped by the features Opera introduced, viz. usage mouse gestures and the little time I have to spend customizing each install. The way I have learned to interact with tabs apropos of the ability to throw aside and minimize tabs, open tabs in new out-of focus and in-focus windows, and the ability to close tabs all with a slight gesture makes using other browsers seem tedious. These things are personal, yes, but I can search faster than anyone I have seen, save another Opera user. It’s like crack.

I’ve been tring to find reason to switch to mainline Firefox since its birth.

Alas, I can’t quit you, Opera.

    Not that anyone asked…

    #6 Pedro,

You don’t like anything, do ya?

“Final Fantasy 14 coming out. When is it really final?”

Uh, it’s final fantasy 13 and honestly? Ever since Enix gobbled up Squaresoft they have cheapen the franchise to the extreme with nothing but overtanned bishounen and a storyline filled with cheap drama that would put MTV’s The Hills plot look as deep as CBS’ The West Wing.
