One of Adam (Crackpot) Curry’s favorite crackpot theories is that these guys are behind [censored], [censored] and every other [censored] you can think off. Riiiight… Then why are we able to freely report on [censored]?

From today until May 17, approximately 150 of the most influential members of the world’s elite will be meeting behind closed doors at a hotel in Greece. They are called the Bilderberg Group or the “Bilderbergers,” and you have probably never heard of them.

The group, co-founded by Prince Bernard of the Netherlands, has been meeting in secret every year since 1954. This year, says the British broadsheet The Times, they are meeting at the Nafsika Astir Palace in Vouliagmeni.

The individuals at the meeting come from such power houses as Google and the Wall Street Journal, the U.S. Senate and European royalty. Governments, the banking industry, big oil, media and even the world of academia are amongst the Bilderberg ranks.

Those reportedly in attendance at last year’s conference in Virginia include former U.S. senator Tom Daschle; Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner and his predecessor Henry M. Paulson; former U.S. secretaries of state Henry Kissinger and Condoleezza Rice; Microsoft executive Craig Mundie; senior Wall Street Journal editor Paul Gigot; World Bank President Robert Zoellick and Google CEO Eric Schmidt.

There is no official list of who’s who in Bilderberg and there are no press conferences about the meetings. This is because the group operates under the “Chatham House Rule,” and no details of what goes on inside are released to the press.

This secrecy has led to many claims that the Bilderberg Group are the world’s real “kingmakers,” and, some even suggest, behind the global financial crisis.

Ugg. And we are asked to believe that these guys can keep such a serious secret for the rest of their lives?

Some of these politicians couldn’t keep a secret for a day…

  2. Toxic Asshead says:

True, but anything Dasshole is involved in must be bad in some way or other.

  3. Strange says:

One interesting tidbit is the history of the founder Prince Bernard of the Netherlands, in relation to his involvement with the Nazi party and using the airline KLM after the war ( when he was then part of the Dutch scene) as transport for escaping Nazis
    Very strange

That’s the beauty of it. Do it in the open, so anyone who says its a conspiracy is called a fool.

I have a problem with the fact that major media outlets apparently regularly attend but never report. An informed polity is essential to successful democracy. The topics / conclusions that leak from Bilderberg are of great interest to those that want to know about important events (war /economy etc.). As I recall, when everyone thought the Iraq war was imminent the reports from Bilderberg (accurately) indicated it would not start for a year.

Conspiracy and control is not the only logical conclusion. These people are on to things way before it is widely reported. At the very least these people know what is going to happen and can react to it (like stocks) long before the masses have any idea. I think that is worth reporting.

The fact that various intelligence agencies apparently knew 9/11 was coming doesn’t mean they had something to do with it, but it would probably be helpful to establish how they knew so you can be proactive instead of reactive (and usually irrationally reactive) in the future.

Why is it that some people conclude that these groups control the world and the others (most?) think they control nothing?

    The rules:
    1. You do not talk about the Bilderberg Group.
    2. You do not talk about the Bilderberg Group.
    3. What happens at Bilderberg stays at Bilderberg.
    4. If this is your first time at Bilderberg, you have to go in the barrel.

  7. B.Dog says:

I’m gonna skip it this year.

What … You’ve never had a Bilderburger in Grease?

And I thought I was the only one here who knew of these guys. Not that I put much stock in them ruling the world, or anything. More like they’re a secret insider trading gang. Profiting from the rest of the world’s suffering. Isn’t Barbara Walters supposed to be party to these meetings? That could explain why she always does the celebrity and head of state interviews, on ABC-TV. She pals with them at these gathering. Even the notorious dictators.

  10. ECA says:

The thought of the group, is to create and eliminate the VALUE of money. and to MAKE YOU THINK that money is worth more then you are.
this is a part of slavery.
It is a status symbol, when you dont worry about money and can go anywhere, and just GET what you want, at anytime, and NOT CARE COST.
They control WHO/WHAT countries make money. IF needed, they can crush an economic rise, and TAKE the cheap good, and market them for MORE from another source.
the major hitters are in the import export trades.

This is why I don’t listen to No Agenda any more. I got tired of hearing about Adam’s “crackpot” conspiracy theories all the time. It was a fun and interesting podcast when it began, but not any more. I’m sure he thinks UFO’s have a lot to do with the current economic malaise, and Obama is part of the evil plot. Whatever.
