Many people found Google’s search site was extremely slow or inaccessible Thursday, and other reports pointed to troubles with other properties including YouTube, Gmail, Google Analytics, Google Maps, Google Docs, AdSense, and Blogger.
Judging by a Twitter search for #googlefail, the problem was international in scope, though it wasn’t immediately clear how universal the problems were. Google didn’t immediately comment for this story, though it did confirm an earlier Google News outage that lasted about three and a half hours.
Here’s Googles comment:
I’m sure glad I don’t have to reach the ‘cloud’ for my data.
Makes me not feel so bad about my server screwing up every now and then. My email has actually been more reliable than gmail.
Cloud Cloud Faster faster This is why all our eggs need to be in one basket. It’ll give us more free time.

You guys love that picture don’t you? 🙂
[We love it when Google is in the news. We get to run that photo again. – ed.]
I don’t give a crap what is happening with, to, or about Google. I’m just glad to see her.
It looks like Paddy-O is now safely back to being an expert on everything.
So that was what happened! Even though I don’t use g-mail, most all my web surfing went very slow what with google ads, and other google services so slow. Wow, defragged my hard drive for nothin’
Business comes to halt sometimes because of such dependence on someone else’s server. Oh well.
She can outage me anytime.
I noticed it too, and switched to Yahoo just to see if it was a problem with my machine. Worked fine. Actually, Yahoo is much better than I remembered.
Ah yes, just afew more inches and she’ll have a Google outtage we all can enjoy…
What? too crude…
Who cares, she pretty…
Oh no! A free service is down for a few hours a year.
#12:
My university email, serviced by gmail, is technically not free.
Yes, it bothered me. I got a message suggesting I try again in 30 seconds. I gave up and went on to something else about 15 minutes later.
Amazing how much we rely on google.
I noticed google search not coming up and reset my modem and restarted my computer – before even bothering to check out another website.
“Google is the internet” is something getting ingrained in to us all without realizing it.
Wow! 16 posts and Stephanie hasn’t complained about the sexist picture……….
I’d do the Google chick.
