If saving the environment is the goal then they wouldn’t make the box. Another shameful attempt to get people into the green religion and to eat like animals.
I for one will continue to use my nice plates which I might add don’t have to be thrown away when I’m done.
This green thing is really getting out of hand.
I don´t need a pizzabox like this. If I order a pizza I eat alone a whole one. But the real question is “What the hell is green on this one-way carton?”
Very clever design.
#1 You’re a tool.
#1 and #2 – that’s the whole point – it’s going to be thrown away anyway and this way you get four plates and a leftover container (if needed) out of the deal. a great thing if you’re on the go. my family eats out of the pizza box if we’re not at home and this would help. of course some “green” stuff is hype, but this is at least letting you do a little of the reducing and reusing before you recycle it.
Pizza boxes are specifically excluded from most recycling bins because they are food / grease contaminated. Anything with animal fat in it generally needs to stay out of the recycle system.
The box looks like it is convenient and practical, but don’t try to pass the design off as primarily eco-friendly.
I think it’s meant to replace paper plates (which is green in itself because you use less product) and have storage afterwards. If you can’t get that from the video then I suggest you call somebody.
Very smart design. Ah engineering at its finest.

You would think eating off a box lid is clever when a perfectly good plate is at arms length.
ON the other hand – Bite Me.
/* begin sarcasm…
wow. amazing. eating pizza out of the box instead of using a plate. and then sticking the leftovers in the box in the refrigerator. never in a million years has any drunken frat boy thought of this concept.
end sarcasm */
how is this green???
in the end you still have a pizza box left.
Why does this box matter when chances are, you’re going to get a pizza covered in ground up/processed/farting animals? Don’t forget the huge carbon footprint from pizza delivery.
Also, if you can’t fit a whole pizza box in your fridge, you have too much shit in there.
So my lazyness at not wanting to dirty any dishes has been green all this time? I pretty much always eat pizza on the box.
Clever design, but I fail to see how this is any more green. When the pizza is gone, the box is thrown away, just like any other pizza box.
Just hype. Calling it green is a gimmick to generate interest.
It’s brown, people.
It should be called, “What brown can do for you.”
The only way that this could be green, is if you ate the pizza box!
Youre not creating additional waste by using paperplates, nor are you using water/energy to clean non-disposable plates.
Its not really much “greener” than previous versions, but it is slightly more convenient
Green-Eco-Morons for sure will buy into it 🙂
Why not make the box edible, out of corn or rice 😉
(i know, it would have to be wrapped in yet-another-box so those obese americans could eat the pizza and the box… but maybe, just *maybe* if every box/packaging was made out of edible stuff, we could recycle it / return it as animal food…)

Yes, there are many times I eat Pizza with just a napkin at hand so have this clever option is a great idea.
Unlike a prima donna like you, I don’t need to eat pizza off of pretty plates, you tool.
#19 Dallas
Clever option? – a piece of cardboard. You probably also eat from the cat dish judging from your fear of plates – probably a childhood thing.
But perhaps I am being too harsh, you no doubt are doing the best you can. It must be tough going through life with the IQ of someone who lives in a trailer park.
So you go ahead and eat off that cardboard… and don’t forget you clean your paws.
#19 Clever option?
Clever indeed. The cleverness to re-purpose the container as a serving tray a have a covered smaller container without more material is super!
Think about how green that is! Your mommy won’t have to wash the china and your spoon, just your white shorts and polo shirt!
As a side bonus, your friends won’t make fun of your prima donna eating arrangements during football season.
Oh, please! I’ve been cutting off the tops of pizza boxes to eat off of when sharing, for years. Also use the tops of foam take out containers as plates when sharing too.
You save on paper plates and the left overs get a smaller container. I think it’s a good idea.
If you want to wash plates, go for it.
It’s been a very long time since I ate off a plate that I had to wash. The chicken breast I ate tonight was eaten off a cheap paper plate. Cups, bowls and such are a different story.
Jeeze…
WALK to your local pizza restaurant.
Get your pizza served on a metal tray that is reused for years and years
Eat off of a ceramic plate and use cutlery like a civilized human being.
Have a nice WALK home
Enjoy the experience….
