    From wikipedia:

“In early 1985, Chu, then 24 years old, took 11 members of his family hostage in his home in Oakland and was reported to have been beating some with his fists. Chu fired a .38 pistol at one police officer who came to investigate, but missed. Police cordoned off a ten-block area for three hours. Chu eventually released his hostages and surrendered to the police.”

  15. denacron says:

I had hoped on my last trip to S.F. that I and my family would see this guy so we could invite him to lunch. He may or may not be a good dining companion, but I am sure it would be a memorable meal.

  16. TV News Guy says:

31 years in TV in San Francisco. I have seen it all. Three times.
We news photographers all know Frank well, and really like him. He gets plenty of attention from us, and we take care of him. Since we have to deal with the politicians, cops, criminals, lawyers, and gay activists here, Frank is a breath of fresh air. At least he believes what he says.
All the TV photographers love Frank.
You Internet guys are late to this party.
Do any of YOU have a nightclub named after yourselves? Do any of you have several people dress up as YOU during Halloween? No? Then keep trying, and don’t belittle what you don’t understand.
