Funny, KFC marquees have always been the standard for intelligent political commentary.

  3. Dan Collins says:

As a lifelong Democrat I wouldn’t vote for the woman if my life depended on it.I will hold my nose and vote republican before I vote for another train wreck democrat.I have a great idea the dems should nominate another Mass. liberal.Dukakis and Kerry did so well!.

  4. Kent Goldings says:

I don’t want to get into a political debate but Hillary is not all that liberal. She’s a political opportunist, like her husband. Indeed, Bill’s success at “triangulating” moderates is probably all Hillary’s tactics. I blame that tactic of sniping conservative issues for the present situation in Washington.

The new-republican elites are interested only in maintaining power at the cost of traditional conservative republican issues. Therefore, the only way they can defend against Clintonesque “triangulation” is to have a zero-tolerance for dissent. Therefore, even if the other side has a good conservative idea, you can’t support it. This served to alienate lifetime republican senators like Jim Jeffords and smash the political hopes of good men like John McCain.

I think that Hillary is the democratic complement of that, a willingness to tolerate or even embrace traditionally non-liberal issues in order to consolidate power.

I live in New York and she’s been a good senator. I’d vote for her again in that office. However, I don’t think she’s presidential material. For example, her dismissal of good sense and free speech issues in order to pander to conservative “family” groups over this whole video game stupidity is just one example.

I’m afraid the democrats running the show are so colossally clueless that they might go for Hillary.

  5. AB CD says:

What are the good conservative ideas the Democrats have come up with? It sounds more like you’re talking about the Democrats who shut down Harold Ford’s cooperation in Social Security reform.

  6. laineypie says:

I love Hillary, but I dont think she could run in the next election. Too many people got a bad taste in their mouths from the clintons. I’d vote for her and do everything i could to support her, howeverit wouldnt be enough. she doesn’t stand a chance, and if some shining democratic rebel doesnt appear pretty soon, no other dem will either.

  7. Kent Goldings says:

Good conservative ideas like…oh “balancing the budget”… Stuff that Clinton tried to do.

  8. Greg says:

Definitely. Fiscal responsibility was one of the few areas where I was conservative. Thus the current Republican leadership’s (not just Bush but congressional leaders as well) complete discrediting of themselves on that issue makes it so much easier to never vote for them. Clinton’s budget balancing, plus that of some other Democrats (once presidential contender Howard Dean, future presidential contender Mark Warner) just shows that the conventional wisdom of who handles money better is completely backwards.

Here are some attributes missing from almost every Republican, but especially dubya.:

    Responsibility for their actions.

    A belief in Democracy.

    Consultations with Congress and America.

    Obey the law.

    Integrity.

    Openess.

Following up on campaign promises, such as uniting all the people.

Nominating qualified candidates for the Supreme and Federal Courts and Federal Departments.

This list could go on for many more pages.

  10. Mr Fusion says:

    Will I vote for Hillery?

I don’t know yet. I’ll make up my mind in another couple of years.

The KFC sign? Cute, but extremely insulting and in bad taste.

Criticizing one’s political opinions are fine. Criticizing one’s looks is not. You can choose your politics, but you’re born with those looks.
