Pat Making Pancakes

Whether it’s calling for the assassination of foreign leaders or cooking up a storm, Pat Robertson puts a pinch of Jesus in everything he does, even if Jesus would be appalled.

Pat’s Age-Defying Protein Pancake
America loves pancakes! Pancake houses across the country are packed. But what are those syrup drenched, hot cakes doing to our bodies? Putting us on a fast track to weight gain, high cholesterol and adult onset diabetes.

But now there is hope for everyone who loves this early morning treat. Pat’s very own Age-Defying Protein Pancakes! These delicious pancakes give you energy, help your heart and provide a substantial boost of muscle-building protein.

Oh, really?

  1. Robert Allen says:

What…does he get the maple syrup directly from the tree of the garden of eden or something?

  2. Pat says:

I thought that the disclaimer cover 100% of Robertson’s geriatric / shut in audience.

Disclaimer: Consult with your physician before starting this or any new health regimen or supplement program, especially if you have allergies to any of the listed or related products, or are under the care of a physician or other medical professional, or have any other health problems. No specific health benefit is implied or promised from this recipe.

Note, you can’t see the recipe unless you join the Christian Propaganda and Pancake Network.

  3. Johnny says:

    O RLY?

  4. Milos says:

Here’s a quote from the recipe.

“The ten-grain flour is a rich combination of grains: wheat, rye, oats, corn, barley, soybeans, brown rice, millet, flaxseed, and triticale, a great blend of complex carbohydrates that will keep your system running in an optimum fashion. Unlike white flour that can raise your insulin production, these grains have a low to moderately low glycemic level.”

Way to go Pat. Way to misinform your audience (again). This is almost complete crap (or rather a half truth). Wheat, corn, and rice (I don’t care if it’s brown or not) is going to cause a spike in the insulin levels of most middle-aged to elderly people. This causes inflammation in the body. This inflammation is one of the biggest causes of premature aging and disease. In fact, glycation (insulin interfering with protein’s enzymatic function) may be the single most important reason why we age.

Pat also recommends using safflower oil in this recipe. Safflower oil is a processed vegetable oil and is not healthy at all.

Children and young adults could eat these pancakes with no problem, but Pat’s audience is an older demographic. It’s these people that should be staying away from wheat, corn, rice, and safflower oil in any form. To call these things “Age-Defying Pancakes” is utterly ridiculous.

  5. Steve says:

Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.
Pat stays in pretty good shape, particuliarlly for his age.

  6. Edgar says:

“Ya can taste the Jesus in ’em”?
“Pat Robertson puts a pinch of Jesus in everything he does”?

Why do you bring Jesus into this article? Did Pat call them Jesus Pancakes? (I doubt it.) If you want to criticize his recipe– go right ahead, but why do you bring Jesus into this discussion?

Is it the same reason that many people use Jesus’ name to curse when they have an accident (ex/ hitting their thumb with a hammer)?
Have you ever heard anyone say, “BUDDHA DAMMIT!!”? (Again, I doubt it.)

    P.S. Jesus loves you. Really.

  7. Pat says:

Uumm, Milos, could you please call him Robertson, please. Just so as to not confuse people.

  8. GregAllen says:

Mabye if Ariel Sharon had eaten these pancakes it would have off-set the curse he got for dividing Israel!

First off, I’d like to thank site admin for posting my critical comment. In response to Chris, yes, I should have made it clear that I was not in any way refering to W, rather to the emphasis on the ‘Them and Us’ mentality expressed by both Fox and to a lesser extent – I felt – this blog. The hate-mongering you speak of in your post, catbeller, is not too far from what you yourself are guilty of. As catbeller suggests: “We have to evolve some mechanism to [cl?]amp down [on] really destructive and ambitious groups, like the moonies or scientologists, place your favorite loonie bin here…” Could one could add the American and British governments here? 😉
Anyway, peace and a respect for cultural and territorial sovereignty – between all people – is the solution here, rather than divisive politics of ‘them and us’. – –
