As usual Govt. and loud left “healthy eating” crowd has a part in this. Promoting “food pyramid” that is apt to fatten up pigs but not provide nutrients we evolved to eat.
Some of those were just stupid people who did stupid crap that had nothing to do with their weight. What, are you saying a thin person couldn’t light themselves on fire or get tazed? All that proves is that there are stupid, sometimes fat, people everywhere.
The obese have a wonderful sense of humor. They can heap a plate so full that they find it funny. In a buffet they can laugh repeatedly at the same joke over and over and over…..
I have been trying to increase my girth to catch this missed humor. So far I just cant find an over flowing plate of food all that funny. Nor is the notion that I am going to “eat it all” making me even grin.
Just enter an all-u-can-eat trough and notice that this humor is never stale there.
#4 Its got very strong triple layered sides with a inflatable rim which floats above the waterline.
I had one a few years back and they’re surprisingly strong and durable, unless you’re a fat bastard.
I don’t see what 3 of these have to do with being fat. A fat person in a pool isn’t going to put any extra stress on the sidewalls except for raising the water minimally. No more stress than if a couple kids were swimming back and forth.
Cops tazing themselves is a sign of stupidity not obesity, same with lighting yourself on fire.
On a more serious note, I’m not sure what this has to do with the economic situation. Is the implication that fat people will become (even) less popular because they’re eating too much food? There are all sorts of problems with that notion.
First, our fearless leaders believe that consumption is the way out of a recession. Though patently false (it’s savings that we need, not consumption), our culture generally believes it as well. Hence, we should just LOVE fat people if they’re fat because they’re consuming too much food.
Second, to be really serious, people might very well become heavier during economic downturns because they tend to opt for less expensive and easy-to-prepare foods (e.g., ramen noodles, processed mac & cheese, etc.) that are fattening and, unfortunately, totally lacking in nutrition. Someone probably has (or should, hmmm…) write a book of low-cost but nutritious and non-fattening recipes for folks who are pinching pennies.
The attitudes toward weight in today’s society are equivalent to those toward drug abuse and alcoholism 50 years ago. If someone admitted an alcohol problem would you tell them to “just stop drinking”? That would be considered offensive.
The medical research on weight is barely at the beginning stages and is probably completely opposite of what the cure is going to be. Yes, I’m a fat guy and have been fat all my life. Is it merely that I ate too much and have a lack of character and self-control? Maybe in the same way that drug addicts and alcoholics are. Where billions has been poured into programs to help the drugged and drunk, next to nothing has been spent on obesity, especially that where the body is not responding properly to food and/or exercise. The majority of efforts are draconian surgeries, quacky studies and even quackier over-the-counter products or idiotic books that profess this-or-that diet. We are in the dark ages of understanding obesity.
As far as I’m concerned, druggies and drunks have it easy. They can quit drugs and alcohol and never use them again and live a perfectly good life. Can’t do that with food. The druggies and drunks have another advantage. They can walk down the street and nobody knows they have a problem.
I don’t know if it’s going to be a pill or a shot, or something else that cures this disease. And it is a disease, especially to those of us who grew up big. I didn’t eat that much more than anybody else and I was just as active as I grew up. Played baseball, football, etc, rode my bike everywhere that the normal kids did, albeit, maybe a bit slower.
I would give anything in the world to be within that revered Metropolitan Life chart. I would sell my soul for it.
Fat people are the last demographic group that it’s fine to ridicule, and believe me, I’ve heard it all since day one. There’s nothing you can say to me that I haven’t already heard. So bring it on. But something original would be appreciated.

Here is what Gary Shapiro CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) said: Dvorak's writing sings with insight and clarity. Whether or not you agree with John's views, he will get you thinking and is never boring. These essays are worth the read!
I’m going to light myself on fire.
Yep, famous last words…
Check it out:
Dumb, ignorant, fat, lazy Americans…they deserve every bit of ridicule they have coming their way for their sloth-like ways.
That pool is just your standard back yard pool without the metal container holding it in? – – – right?

5-What does the ‘loud left’ have anything to do with obese people making themselves better? I mean other than the paranoid delusions in your head?
Thanks for that! I haven’t had a good laugh in a while.
Bobbo, a “standard back yard pool” is IN the ground, not above it. That there’s a white trash back yard pool.
Okay, time for lunch.

You know what, not that awesome.

“I don’t see what 3 of these have to do with being fat.”
.
“Most Awesome Fat Americans Ever” is who they are, their actions and circumstances are just a bonus.
The woman in the trench was the only victim of being overweight and out of shape. The others could happen to anyone.
The dude on fire… WTF? “Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son”

Gosh, John.
LOSE WEIGHT?
That’s the kind of hard hitting analysis we turn to you for. Lose Weight? I’m sure nobody EVER thought of that before.
Nice, penetrating analysis.
This would have been more watchable if not for the tedious and annoying slow motion recaps.
