I’ve solicted and posted two excellent viewpoints about the CES show including a summary of goings-on at Microsoft based on interviews of most of the product managers.
Microsoft at CES by Becky Worley will give you some new insights.
And from the Diffusion Group I posted an interesting article summarizing what wasn’t at CES.
The Missing Piece by Colin Dixon is an excellent overview by a top analyst.
Becky’s article was more useful — to me. Even if it was just letting me know that Uncle Rupert really isn’t turning loose of anything and putting it in Bill Gates’ hands. My HDTV future decisions — sometime this year — still come down to:
[1] D* HR20 DVR will actually function as a networkable device or
[2] The HD TiVo w/cablecard for Comcast will actually function as a networkable device or
If both of them continue in the predictable bentover position for the MPAA; then, my decisions will remain in the hands of hackers.
I appreciated Mr Dixon article more. His article raises attention to the problems all those nice CES gadgets will need to swim through in practice.
I loved Becky’s reports on TechTV, but this one leaves bad taste as MS ad.
Yeah.. .but this they have this fabulous product at CES? I saw this a MacWorld, but didn’t have a camera on me…
Announcing the “iPod Toilet Paper Dispenser and Dock!” Play it really loud please!
