  1. Paddy-O says:

Very good Uncle Dave. Reminds me of the peanut tins that warn that it contains peanuts.

  2. Personality says:

6 egg whites a day for me. Might as well shoot yourself if you can’t eat eggs.

  3. Gary, the dangerous infidel says:

What I find disturbing from the article is that besides the cartons of six, which aren’t terribly uncommon, the Happy Egg Company also sells their eggs in cartons of TEN!!! I consider this to be utter madness, and probably a sign that we’re coming to the end of days.

  4. bobbo says:

If Government requires that all food contain a warning as to known allergens then the companies have no choice.

Easier and in fact better to have an occasional titterfest regardling stupid labeling than to allow for a loophole for the Chinese to drive Mexican Trucks through.

  5. Matt says:

I like how those fire logs have a warning that they’re flammable.

  6. Buzz says:

Odd. My eggs are all full of peanut butter.

  7. Buzz says:

Cancel that. The last two were full of shrimp.

  8. Angel H. Wong says:

A big sign that dumbifying the masses work.

  9. Dallas says:

You can never be too careful.

    #7 LOL.

  10. Mr. Fusion says:

    #5, Bobbo,

I agree. While this sounds stupid to many, the regulations require that ALL packaging that contain potential allergens be labeled. What may be obvious to most, may not be obvious to some.

  11. Paddy-O says:

    # 11 Mr. Fusion said, “What may be obvious to most, may not be obvious to some.”

That’s why we have the Darwin awards.

Gov regulations, ensuring defective genes are propagated.

  12. noname says:

General, do you eggs on your face again?

Yes, I see your point, why would something blatantly labeled and showing an image of eggs, also needs to give advice, “contains eggs”.

As much as I am against bureaucratic requirements. This one does make sense; in that:

    *Allergies can be deadly
    *Virtually no cost to implement
*Simple Rules are more likely to be followed then complex (tax code like) rules.
*Exceptions for the blatantly obvious would make the rules complex.

“Gov regulations, ensuring defective genes are propagated.”

Would never happened in Nazi Germany, eh? Though I’m sure its of some comfort to you! 😛

  14. Tanya says:

Ridiculous, reminds me of the ‘living outside the asylum’ guy in hitchhiker’s guide!

  15. Dribble says:

Warning: Kimber contains 45ACP, and I’m getting mighty sick of the bullshit.

  16. Paddy-O says:

    # 16 pedro said, “Yeap! Makes sure the dumb stays alive.”

I finally understand the mind set of the nanny state proponents. Self preservation!
