Get ready for some more straight answers later this month.Obama’s trying to set expectations as low as possible. Probably a smart more.
Reminds me of the insight about playing poker: if you don’t know who the sucker is=====its YOU!!
And so it is.
That skit was chock full of thruthiness.
Like a lot of people, I haven’t watched SNL for years but started again because of Tina Fey’s Sara Palin.
I have to say — SNL has really gotten better or at least more polished.
This skit, for example, isn’t just well written — the production values are great the EDITING is a perfect parody. Great job.
Don’t get me wrong — the old SNLs could extremely funny but they were kind of amateurish compared to the current SNL. It’s a different show, really.
A salesman isn’t necessarily a broker. He might have been selling car insurance a week earlier.
Laughs, That is what is happening this year.
The brokers, hedge funds — everyone that needs deposits — are talking about the stock market going up because they need investors investing. It does not have anything to do with the stock market going up.
Fees are where the money is.
Nothing new here!
“You (think American’s) can’t handle the truth. Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who’s gonna do it? You? You, Lieutenant Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that Santiago’s death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don’t want the truth because, deep down in places you don’t talk about at parties, you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said “thank you” and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand at post. Either way, I don’t give a damn what you think you are entitled to.”

Sounds like a “code red” to me…
I think the scene in “Trading Places” where the Duke Brother explain to Billy Ray Valentine how a brokerage firm works says it all about the stock market.
#9, Rick Cain,
We bet we couldn’t put ya’ll in the poorhouse and get rich in the same day.
“Here’s your $1, Billy Ray!” “Why, thank you Louis!”
