Here is a pic going around the net via email. Interesting shot of the US Airways crash/rescue. And exactly where are those yellow life vest you are supposed to put on in case of a water landing?

The televised interviews, like the guy from seat 15-A, all concurred that none of the passengers bothered to pull up a seat cushion as a flotation device. They simply got up and ran for the nearest exit as soon as the plane stopped moving. Ultimately, they all survived so all the whiners can shut up and thank the pilot for his heroic efforts.
Get a life people !!! It was an obvious sarcastic joke at the airlines.

I can’t think of a domestic flight I’ve ever taken where “yellow life vests” were an option. Every time I get on a plane, they say “in the unlikely event of a water landing, your seat cushion will serve as a flotation device”.
Mr. Dvorak must be thinking of flights he’s taken with John Travolta, or Adam Curry.
I suspect that the life jackets we saw in the pictures were given out by the ferries and tugs pulling the passengers off.

The fuel tanks weren’t full. It was a short flight (for that plane) and they don’t carry more weight than needed so as to not burn unneeded fuel. Since it wasn’t full of fuel and didn’t break up it isn’t a surprise that it stayed afloat. Big hollow, water tight wings full of air.
Good thing he had his iPhone along to snap the photo and upload it to Twitter.
During the pre-flight briefing, the first-class passengers are told to grab a passenger from coach and use them as a floatation device.
The skies aren’t so friendly anymore.
They probably had a bill working it’s way through that would give life preservers and rafts for the “Steerage” but was shot down by the Republicans.
Its no fun to float in chilly water. Remember the titanic?
I’ll stick to the wing please.
